I saw she laughed at me and I couldn’t hold it inside me longer. Why isn’t she coming over? She is probably just embarrassed about what happened and doesn’t dare to talk to me. Hmm, should I maybe go over? Usually I don’t need to fight for a woman, they usually come on their own but this one is not like anyone else.

"What did you say was her name again? Was it Sanem?" I asked the barkeeper.

He started laughing and answered. "Yes. That is Sanem. She is clumsy sometimes and I think that you were the lucky one tonight my friend. Are you new here, I didn’t see you before in this town?"

"I am. I moved today with my parents and wanted to explore the city for a while. There are not really many places you can go to on a Friday evening here, or?" I asked him.

"Nah, not really. There is this bar and then a few more coffee shops but they don’t have open during the late evening hours. The town has its own charm you know, I think you will like it once you get to know it better. Where did you move from?"

"I am from Istanbul. Or better said I lived there for the past 23 years. I got used to very crowded places so it will be quite a challenge. From what I saw so far, I think I will like it." I turned around and my eyes automatically searched for her. I smiled when I saw her with her friends dancing and singing along.

"I can see that." The barkeeper said and added "I need to warn you though. Sanem is not like other girls you might now. She is a bit different."

"What do you mean?" I asked curious.

"Well she is not that THAT kind of a girl if you know what I mean. She is a good girl, crazy and clumsy but honest and genuine. She has a big circle of friends that she is hanging around with but she doesn’t really give a chance to anyone to get to know her better. And believe me, I know. As bartender you see many things here while working. There are many who ask her out on dates or simply want to get to know her but she turns them down, each one of them. I honestly don’t know what the deal is but I think it is better for you to know this now before you go and make a move."

"Is it possible that she hmm how can I say it…that she is not into men and likes females?" I hear myself asking and wondering what the hell was that.

"Haha I doubt that. I see the way she is looking at you the whole evening so I think that is not the case. Anyway, it is really nice to see new people here. I am Memmo by the way. This is my bar and I work here almost every day."

"I am Can Divit. It’s very nice to meet you. I think we will be seeing each other quite often here."

"I hope so. I would like to hear about your life in Istanbul. I need to get the drinks to Sanem and her friends now. Have a nice evening." And with that he was on his way.

I started to think about the things he said about her. Not giving a chance to anyone. I mean I did like the sound of that, that she isn’t an easy girl but it made me wonder why? She is beautiful and from what he said a very good person but there has to be more than that and I will find out what it is. Not tonight though. I am very exhausted from the trip and the stress we have had the last weeks. I will definitely be seeing her around and I can’t wait for it, I thought smiling. Damn, why am I like this? I cannot recognize myself anymore. Just before I turned to leave, I looked one last time at her and she looked back at me. Wow that smile of hers, it can make you melt. I took the last sip from my drink and went to the door, we will be seeing each other again Sanem.

Sanem POV

I felt a bit sad when I saw him leave the bar. I couldn’t bring myself to go talk to him and now it is too late. As I had guessed, why would he be interested in talking with someone like me in the first place if he can have anyone he wants? I was mad at myself that I would probably never see this guy again but I would take this as a lesson.

It was near midnight when I arrived home. I couldn’t sleep, thoughts were running through my head and I decided to put them down on paper. I didn’t write for such a long time and I was happy I finally found my inspiration again. I wrote about tonight’s events and everything I felt during the evening. It was hard to describe your feelings you have inside yourself and transfer them onto paper.

I was very satisfied with my writings for the evening and tried to find some peace in order to sleep. I have quietly hoped I would dream about him tonight.

I woke up with a smile on my face as I heard laughter downstairs. Not only that, but I smelled my mother’s cooking and let me tell you there is nothing more that excites me then food in the early morning. I was craving for Turkish breakfast and my mom was the best cook there was out there. I wondered though who was already so early at our house.

After I brushed and washed myself I went downstairs to the kitchen but no one was there.

"Anne, where are you? I smell food but there is nothing in the kitchen!" I said.

"Kizim, we are sitting outside in the garden. Come and join us, we are having breakfast with our dear neighbors."

I headed towards our garden with tea in my hands.

"Kizim here you are. We have invited Aziz, Mihriban and Can to join us for breakfast." My mother said while I was coming out.

"Can this is our daughter, kizim this is Can." My mother said and Can who was turned with the back towards me turned around to greet me and I couldn’t believe my eyes.

I stopped in my walk as I looked into his eyes. This is the man from yesterday evening. This is the guy I can’t stop thinking about since the first time I laid my eyes on his.
