Chapter 18

Hi guys!

I would like to apologize for not updating this story sooner. I was getting ready to travel to Germany to my sister's wedding.
You know how it is...buying presents, searching for the perfect dress etc. I had a lot going on at work at the same time. Then everything got cancelled due to Corona and I hope all of you are healthy and safe. 

Please take care of you and your loved ones. I will try my best from now on to update more frequently. I hope you enjoy this chapter. I wanted to include the sneek peak into this chapter but it would have been too long and it didn't fit into it as I planned. But it will come soon and I promise, I won't be writing a drama story here. Some things might get complicated but it is a wholeheartedly, easy progressive story without big dramas.

I felt Can stiffen right beside me. I had to get rid of this man in the best way I knew. It took me too long to react when I heard Can speak.

"Yo man. Don't you get it, she doesn't want to."

"Why don't you let her speak for herself? Or are you two together? In case you are, I am sorry I didn't mean to be rude." He answered to Can but looked towards me.

"No we are not, just some friends hanging out. Thank you again but it would be better if you go now." I said and he left, wishing us a good night.

I hated myself for saying what I did and I felt Can's disappointment even if he didn't say a word. I felt it. I had to talk to him now before it got out of control. I didn't wanted to hurt him further.

"Can..." but before I could he stood up and turned towards Metin.

"Metin can you drive Sanem home once you leave? I don't feel so good, I am heading out now."

"Sure, of course." Metin answered slightly embarrassed but didn't mention anything anymore.

"Can wait. I am leaving with you.."

"No. I need to be alone now. Enjoy your evening." Before I could say anything or run after him, he went already through the door. I felt Metin's hand on my shoulder, stopping me from running after him.

"Metin let me go. I have to talk to him." I protested.

"Give him some time Sanem. Believe me it is better if he is alone now. You really hurt him."

"What do you mean, you don't even know anything?" I acted as if I don't know what he is talking about.

"Cut the crap already. You can tell anyone else that nothing is going on between the both of you but you can't fool us. We see how much in love you both are."

Tears were bubbling up in my eyes. "Metin I am sorry. I really messed up. Why did I do this? I never meant to hurt him."

"Let me tell you something Sanem. I know you saw previously that a woman stopped us on the way back from the bar. She wanted to talk to Can. Do you know what Can said to the woman who wanted to have a drink with him?"

"I knew something happened, I saw that you were stopped by someone. What did he tell her?"

"He told her he is not interested and that he is not available. Of course he couldn't say he has a girlfriend because I guess it was your idea to keep it a secret?"

"Of course it was my idea. He wanted our parents to know and to make it public exactly to avoid situations like these. I can't believe I fooled myself and I am hurting the both of us so much. He means the world to me and I never meant to act this way."
