Our new neighbors, the Divits!

Chapter 13

The following days went by quick. They both have been busy but tried to make evening and lunch plans to meet up.

Can's job at the big advertisement company as a freelancer started out very promising. He had all the freedom he needed in his work. His presence was not required often in the company. He would be present when they were in the beginning phase of the project in order to discuss all the details with the costumer. Other than that, he wasn't tied to the company and was free to do as he pleases as long as he delivered his work in time.

They tried to hide their relationship as much as possible but Mevkibe and Mihriban knew their children better than anyone. They didn't want to interfere but rather let them come by themselves and tell them about their happy secret.

They have never seen their children happier than they are now. Mevkibe noticed a change in Sanem since the Divit's moved in. She was smiling all the time and full of energy. There was this certain glow in her eyes and she knew immediately that her daughter was in love.

Mevkibe was so proud of herself that her suspicions have been right. She saw the way Can looked at her daughter and knew these kind of looks don't came often around.

Even before they moved into the town, Mihriban was worried that Can wouldn't enjoy the life in a smaller city but she has been proven wrong. She was sure that Sanem had a lot to do with it but she chose to not mention it or question her son about it. She knew that her son has had previous relationships but she never met any of his former girlfriends. In fact, she didn't know if he had any serious relationships before but she knew that she has raised a good man and that he wouldn't do anything inappropriate or pressure Sanem into something.

She teached him since he was young to have respect and to always think two steps ahead of any action and decision he would take. He was a good son, he didn't play around with a woman's heart. She remembers when he was younger and he would ask her various questions about love.

He would ask her "Anne how do you know if you have found the one?

I mean, is it real that there is the one for everyone?

How do you know you are in love?"

She would tell him that he would feel it in his heart. He would then know that he has found the woman of his dreams. When you know, then you know. Love is not rocket science after all.

At some point she would have to talk to him though. This girl wasn't anybody and she wanted to know what intention Can has with her. She was sure she knew her answer already because she saw it in his eyes. The eyes never lie.

The way Can was looking at Sanem every time they were in the same room, he lit up like a crystal ball. Had she known that this would be the outcome, they would definitely have moved sooner here. Hell, they would have never left in the first place. But it's like life itself, you never know what is waiting for you at the end of the horizon.

Sanem and Can did many activities together and Mevkibe and Mihriban noticed that every evening, they would either go to some friends or Sanem would show Can some new place around the town.

Neither Mevkibe nor Mihriban shared what they knew or better said what they thought they knew, to their respective partners. They kept it to themselves and would keep their children's secret for a little bit longer.

Sanem finally found some time to have a girl to girl talk with Selin. They didn't see each other as they used to. Sanem had a lot on her mind with her thesis coming to an end, and of course there was Can.

But they decided not to mention it to anyone so Sanem couldn't talk about that very important part of her life with her best friend. She really needed some female advice but she was afraid to tell her. Not really afraid but she knew once the cat is out of the bag, there was no coming back. But her friend wasn't stupid. She noticed something was going on there.
