Chapter 16

Two days earlier

Sanem noticed Can behaving very mysteriously the past few days. He received phone calls more than usual and he seemed nervous from time to time. He never answered the phone in front of her and it made her question if he had something to hide. Her curiosity got the better of her and she had to address the topic.

“Is everything ok with you? You are acting strange. I didn’t want to say anything but I am starting to get worried.”

“So you noticed it, hmm? I can’t hide anything from you. I’ll show you once I have all the information. Can you hold on for a few more days? Please baby.” He looked with his puppy eyes and I couldn’t do anything else than nod. I trusted him. There was nothing I could do more than wait now.

Today – Sanem POV

“Good morning handsome. I hope you slept well? What is the plan for tonight, when are you picking me up?” I was super excited for his surprise and I think it has something to do with the fact that he was acting so mysterious a couple of days ago.

“Morning beautiful. I did, very well in fact 😊. Hmm someone can’t wait for tonight??? I have some minor things to finish up and I will pick you up let’s say around 6 o’clock? Are you finished with everything by then?”

“I should be ready by then. I will head to the university soon and hand in my final thesis and then I am finally free. Any special dress code or anything I need to be aware of?”

“Just be yourself, I want you to be comfortable, nothing else. See you tonight beautiful.😘”.

I want to scream, I am so excited. I can’t wait anymore. I have to tell him how I feel. I am head over heels in love with him and I want him to know. There is no point in hiding it.

I was so nervous, my hands were swetting and I don't know what to do with them. Can is driving and he insisted that I have to cover my eyes. He didn't wanted me to know where we were headed and that didn't help my nervousness at all.

"Hej babe. Everything fine with you? We are soon there, it won't take long anymore."

"I am fine of course. Well, I am very nervous and I don't know why. Where are you taking me? I tried to memorize in my head all the left and right turns you did put you lost me 10 minutes ago."

"Just five more minutes canim. There is no need for you to be nervous whatsoever. Just breathe in and out, tamam? It's only you and me, no one else."

Well that doesn't neccessarily makes me less nervous that it will be only the both of us. I did miss him the past couple of days a lot. He is right, there is no point for me to be nervous.

He took my left hand into his and I forgot all my thoughts. He warmed my heart and everything was forgotten in an instance. I listened to the instrumental music that was playing in the car and didn't notice that the car came to a stop.

"We are here canim. But don't remove the cover from your eyes just yet, tamam? Come take my hand and follow my lead."

"Go slowly please, not sure if I have the best shoes on right now. Can I am sooo excited."

"I hope you will like it. Stay here for a second and turn around...like this." He turned me and I stood there until I would get further instructions. With a kiss on the cheek he left me standing there.

"You can open your eyes now Sanem."

I removed the cover from my eyes and looked a bit surprised at first. Can was nowhere and I thought I heard his voice far more behind me.
