[HANNA]
Quinn, Chelsea, Helia and Hanna made their way into the gates, tiptoeing past where the Queen of Hearts was still screaming at the card soldiers.
She didn't notice them, which they were thankful for, they didn't want to be noticed by her, not in the state of mind she was in. She was in the mood for chopping off heads, something she hadn't done in awhile. Quinn didn't want to be there when she let her temper get the best of her.
Quinn, Chelsea, Helia and Hanna filed into what was considered Quinn's room. It was her room, it was her mother's storage place for her old things and it had hair salon chairs on it. It wasn't much of a room more than a storage closet.
"Wow it looks the same." Helia said. "Nothing has moved, nothing has changed."
"I'm not into changing things." Quinn said. "I like for things to stay exactly as they are."
"You really do." Hanna said, picking up a jar filled with buttons. "Why do you have so many buttons."
"A good question." Quinn said. "Each One has a story of how I found it. Would you like me to tell them to you?"
"No." Hanna said. "I'm good. Just let it go."
"Why do you keep quoting her?" Chelsea asked. "You keep saying let it go."
"Stop it Chels."Hanna said. "I have no time for your questions."
"I believe you secretly like her." Chelsea said. "She's your role model of sorts."
"No she isn't." Hanna said. "She's the reason why I am here. Why would I look up to her?"
"That's a question you should ask yourself." Chelsea said, picking up a box of old photos. "That's a lot of pictures Quinn. Too many to keep around."
"I'm not throwing anything away." Quinn said. "They're my memories. My keepsakes."
"You have too many keepsakes." Helia said. "It's called hoarding."
"I am no hoarder." Quinn said, placing a hand over her heart. "I am collecting."
"What's the difference?" Helia asked. "Still means you're keeping too many things."
"You guys don't understand the sentimental value of all these things." Quinn said, gesturing around the room. "They are old memories that I want to keep."
"When I look around." Helia said. "I see junk. Lots of junk that needs to be thrown away."
"Throw it all away?" Quinn asked. "Not happening. If you don't like it, you can leave."
"I have nowhere special I need to go." Helia said. "So I'll just stay."
"Good." Quinn said. "No more complaining."
Chelsea, Hanna and Helia shared surprised looks before sitting down in front of the tv.
Quinn clicked the power button, but it wouldn't turn on. She hit it a couple of times, playing with the antennas that stuck out of it before she got a signal and the screen glowed to life.
"Perfect." Quinn said, sitting down next to Chelsea. "We're here just in time. They're replaying the footage from this morning. I didn't miss my daily dose of Mal looking like she was going to lose it."
Mal was being asked some pretty personal questions by the reporters, why they needed to know these things, Quinn had no idea. Then Maddie appeared and Quinn almost lost it.
Maddie!" A reporter said. "How does it feel fitting into Auradon and not being called crazy?"
"How does it feel being friends with the king?" Another reporter asked.
"What would you like to tell us about the identiy of your mother?"
Quinn wanted to laugh at seeing the look of confusion on Maddie's face or the stress they were putting her under.
But all she felt was her blood beginning to boil. Seeing her really irritated her. How could she be happy when Quinn was still here? When she had failed her.
Maddie had failed her, she had no right to be happy. If Quinn wasn't happy, Maddie couldn't be happy. That was that.
Quinn glared at the screen, and her friends scooted away from her ever so slowly, ever so slightly, not wanting to be in her range when she burst out in anger.
Quinn noticed this and took a deep breath, trying to clear her head, trying to calm down.
Quinn closed her eyes and took a deep breath in and out, counting how many breaths it took her to calm down today. Ten breaths. That was smaller than the other times.
Quinn opened her eyes, seeing that Ben had swooped in and saved the day, saving both Maddie and Mal from embarrassment.
Quinn huffed in annoyance. She had really wanted to see Mal snap. Mal had gone through a lot to fit in to Auradon. She'd ditched her signature purple locks and had gone blonde, something that Sam didn't like. She still had purple tips, but it looked washed out.
She was not happy, Quinn could see that much, she was playing a game of hideaway. Hiding from her true self because she was afraid they wouldn't accept her if she wasn't a perfect little princess.
Maddie hadn't been called crazy on tv in awhile. Quinn didn't know why it was considered an insult.
She was crazy and she was proud of it. She didn't understand why Maddie couldn't be the same. It wasn't anything to be ashamed of. It was just how she was. She wouldn't want to change it even if she was given the chance.
She never wanted to.
"Are you good now?" Helia asked. "Because that jar in your hand is cracking."
Quinn looked down it, frowning. How she had done that, she had no idea. She had no idea how she had the strength to it.
"Weird." Quinn muttered, setting the cracked jar back on her table. "I have no idea how that happened."
"You need some serious anger management." Hanna said. "That shouldn't be possible."
"If you put it that way," Quinn said. "We all need anger management and we aren't going to get it. Not here."
"Very true." Helia said. "Fuck all the people in Bore-Adon. We can't even go to hospitals. I don't trust Dr. Facilier with my life."
"Nobody does." Quinn said. "That would be absolutely awful if you did. He'd probably be secretly killing you, and you wouldn't even know."
