[HANNA]
Hanna sat inside the castle in Wonderland where all of the people in Auradon had been invited to witness the coronation of the new queen of Wonderland. Hanna didn't know if it was going to be Maddie or Quinn since the two had been tight lipped about it. The people of Wonderland looked at ease, like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. The White Queen had been sent to an institution where she would be evaluated and taught how to change her ways. The woman wasn't a monster, she was just broken and Hanna could understand that feeling. It always made you do things you'd regret in the future.
Fairy Godmother walked down the aisle, her wand in hand, ready to use it to bless the queen. Hanna had never been to a coronation before and from what she'd seen from the tv on the Isle, there was a lot more to it than she initially thought. She saw her mother deep in the crowd with her sister Anna and their daughters Elisa and Annalina. Yes. Now all four of them were ignoring her existence. Not that she cared or anything.
Unfortunately, she cared a lot. Jay draped an arm over her shoulder, pulling her into his side and pressing a kiss to her temple. She smiled at him, her attention turning to Ben who now asked for silence with the raising of his hand. The castle was deathly silent with a few people chirping away.
"Thank you all for coming," Ben said. "It is with great joy that we have finally gotten Wonderland the ruler they deserved. On behalf of all of Auradon, I apologize that we didn't see the signs sooner. Action should've been immediately taken when the White Queen decided to ignore the line of succession and take over the kingdom. We apologize for the inhumane way she treated you. We apologize for all the harm, pain and suffering it may have caused. And we're especially sorry that we didn't act sooner. But thank you for your resilience. Thank you for not giving up. You have proven that the people of Wonderland are much more than meets the eye and we are happy to have you apart of our kingdom. Without further ado, hail to the new co-Queens of Wonderland, Madeleine Hatter and Quinn Hearts."
The crowd cheered as the two girls entered the room arm in arm. They curtseyed we Fairy Godmother stood in front of them.
Fairy Godmother picked up the wand and held it in front of them. "Do you solemnly swear to the govern the peoples of Wonderland with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?"
"I do solemnly swear." they replied in unison. Fairy Godmother tapped the wand to each of their shoulders. "Then in my honor and my joy to bless our new queens." she took a step back. "You may rise."
The crowd cheered once more, the people of Wonderland a little louder than the rest. Finally, for the first time in more than twenty years they could be at rest. They was no need to worry about the White Queen constantly being on their backs. There was no need to feel fear whenever they heard her name. It was a new day for them all.
They crowd dispersed, heading out into the ballroom where they would celebrate for the next few hours. Just as Hanna was about to follow the rest out the door, she felt someone grab her arm, stopping her in place. She turned around to see her mother, her aunt Anna, her sister Elisa and cousin Annalina.
"Can we talk?" Elsa asked, her eyes peering into hers pleadingly.
"Sure I guess," Hanna said, waving Jay off. "I'll catch up with you in a minute."
Jay shrugged his shoulders, walking out the door with the others. Hanna clasped her hands behind her, rocking back and forth, her eyes glancing between each of them. They stood there in silence for a good five minutes before Hanna cleared her throat.
"You said you wanted to talk but you're not doing much talking," Hanna said, crossing her arms over her chest. "What is it you want to talk about?"
"I'm sorry," her mother said finally. "I'm sorry so got mad at you and said all those things. I care about you a lot Hanna, I have always cared. It's just I thought it would be easy to get to know you past all the Isle stuff. I thought that ignoring that you'd been gone and acting like you had always been there would make it easier. But it didn't. I pushed you away when you needed me most. And for that Im sorry."
In Hanna's opinion, the apology didn't sound at all genuine but she would take it for the effor.
"I forgive you," Hanna said.
"Oh really?" Anna asked. "I was sure we would have to keep apologizing but this is nice."
"Let's start over," Elsa said. "Turn a new leaf."
"Oh and to make it all up to you," Elisa said. "I'm stepping aside as heir and you can take my place. So that people see you as more than just a villain you know? You're awesome Hanna and this will make them see you the way I see you. They'll get to know the real you."
"Yeah," Annalina said. "And we'll obviously be there to help you take the ropes."
"That's wow," Hanna said. "Thanks I think."
"It's the most we could do to make up for all the hurt and confusion we may have caused," Elsa said. "I love you Hanna."
"Love you too," Hanna said, before being bombarded by a group hug. She pulled away, backing away slowly and giving them a smile before heading out to join the celebration.
Jay pulled her aside.
"You good? They didn't say anything bad right?"
"No," Hanna replied. "They wanted to start over and stuff. And they said I get to be Queen of Arendelle someday."
"That's wow," Jay said. "Do you want to do that? Be queen I mean."
"It sounds nice," Hanna said. "But that's for another day."
"Yeah," Jay nodded. "Wanna dance?"
Hanna took his hand and placed her hands on his shoulders, his rested on her waist.
"I love you," Jay said. "I don't think I ever told you that."
If only there were someone out there who loved you."
Her father had taunted her with that phrase for years. And finally, maybe she found someone who did.
Jay scratched the back of his neck, "I mean unless you don't feel the same. I'd-."
Hanna cut him off with a swift kiss to his lips. She pulled away. "Don't be dumb Jay. I love you too. Nobody's ever said that to me and meant it is all."
"I meant it," Jay said, pulling her into a hug. "I've loved you before I even knew what that meant."
"Me too," Hanna replied, as the two embraced.
This was the start of something new. Not just her and Jay but her family. Whether this would be good or bad, only time could tell. She just wanted to be in the moment. All the worries were for another day.
