To Jungkook, Taehyung had always been his rock, his saviour, his teacher. The older omega was always there by his side and even if Jungkook tried, he couldn't recall a single memory without the other with him.
Being an alpha, he would have grown up to be arrogant and selfish and entitled too if not for the older. Taehyung always taught him how alphas and betas and omegas are all equal. Each has their own weaknesses and strength and that no one deserved to be treated lesser than the other.
It was common in their world for alphas to treat their omegas cruelly. They thought it was their right to yell and insult and beat them when they felt like it. They would show them love one second and call them names the other. It was normal for them.
But Taehyung believed none of that. He always told Jungkook how he hated the way omegas were treated. And he warned Jungkook that if he turned out to be an asshole alpha, he will never forgive him.
"If you treat your omega like shit, Jungkook, I swear I'll throw you into that river."
But Taehyung didn't share his thoughts with everyone, because telling the people in his pack about the way he saw things might cause them to despise him and treat him poorly. So he only shared his deepest ideas with Jungkook.
Jungkook, who always looked at Taehyung as his hero and his best friend.
"Jungkook, I'm making cookies today. If you want some, you better come as soon as I call you or I'll eat them all." Taehyung said, walking into the living room where Jungkook was sitting. He had come to see Taehyung early in the morning that day because he had been busy lately with university. He spent hours showing the other all the assignments he had done and all the extra work he had managed to finish.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going to be near the fountain." Jungkook replied, gathering his things to leave.
"To see Yugyeom, how cute." He cooed, making Jungkook grimace. "I'll give you some for him too."
"Hyung please." He said, before walking out the door. He hated it when Taehyung teased him whenever he went to see Yugyeom. It made him feel tingly.
Yugyeom was an omega in their pack who Jungkook adored very very much. He knew his feelings were reciprocated by the way the omega acted around him. And they'd even talked about their feelings a few times. He wasn't courting Yugyeom yet though. Taehyung told him to be sure of his feelings before taking any step or he'll hurt the other but Jungkook had been sure for a while now. He was going to ask Yugyeom if he could court him soon.
"Jungkook, you forgot your laptop here!" He heard Taehyung yell behind him. He cursed before turning around and making his way back to the omega's house.
"You're so forgetful Jungkookie. I'll put a pack of almonds in your bag from now on, it'll help your brain work faster." Taehyung said worriedly, handing him his things. He was always like this. Worrying about Jungkook and making him things and making sure he eats and drinks well during his exams.
"Thanks hyung but I gotta go now." He said, practically running to his house which was just a little distance away from Taehyung's.
"I'm making dinner, darling. It'll be ready soon." Jungkook heard his mother say.
"I'll eat at hyung's place, mom. He's making cookies for dessert." He called out before leaving again.
As he quickly made his way towards the fountain where he knew Yugyeom hung out with his friends nearly every day, he unconsciously thought back to the time when his friendship with Taehyung began.
They were kids back then. Jungkook was five and Taehyung was ten.
"Are you sure you're an alpha? You don't look five, you look barely three." One of the bigger alphas said making his friends laugh. Jungkook held back the tears in his eyes.
