Two weeks passed away after the mating and Taehyung didn't think that Jungkook and him had ever been this awkward before. They barely talked and rarely even looked at each other. Not to mention how Jungkook's scent was everywhere around him now. He knew he smelled like him too.

The couch in the living room had become Jungkook's permanent bed. Taehyung was worried for Jungkook and how he must not have been getting good sleep lately but he just couldn't bring himself to talk about it. He couldn't talk about anything with him lately.

He felt multiple emotions inside him; guilt, worry and relief were the most prominent ones. Guilt because he still believed he had ruined the alpha's life and had doomed him just like himself. Worry because Jungkook came home too late and then slept on that couch which was not uncomfortable at all and relief because deep inside he was still glad that he didn't end up with Hyungsik. But that also made him feel guilty, the fact that Jungkook's sadness was making him happy.

He sighed as he flipped the pancakes over and glanced out the window. It was a cloudy and windy day, one of his favourite kinds of weather.

He was going to take a walk outside in a while anyway. After Jungkook and him were done with the quiet breakfast, Jungkook would leave for university and Taehyung would go to his mother's place where he would spend the rest of the day or spend some time with his friends. Then he would come back home and prepare dinner and wait for Jungkook to come home.

He heard the bedroom door and looked up to see Jungkook coming out of the room after getting dressed and taking a seat on one of the stools on the counter.

"Good morning." He greeted Taehyung while pouring coffee for himself.

"Morning. Here." He put a stacked up plate of pancakes in front of the younger and continued to make some more.

Jungkook ate while scrolling through his phone and the uncomfortable silence stretched between them. Taehyung wanted to ask him how his studies were going but whenever he was about to open his mouth, the events from last week flashed in his brain. The image of Jungkook biting into his neck, the realization that he was Taehyung's alpha.

He closed his mouth and focused on taking out the food from the pan and into the plate.

"Uh, I'll be home late so.." Jungkook said, drumming his fingers on the counter.

"Oh okay. I'll just eat with mom and dad." Taehyung replied before starting to eat. He noticed that Jungkook and him had started to eat faster than usual lately, to get away quicker he was sure.

He was only halfway through his plate when Jungkook stood up and grabbed his bag from the stool beside him.

"I'll be going then." He said and left.

Taehyung didn't even get a chance to say goodbye or wish him a good day. He sighed and finished eating alone.

After doing the dishes and cleaning up a little, he locked the door behind him and walked to his parent's house. He smiled when the wind kissed his face and closed his eyes for a few seconds to enjoy it. He could feel his pack members watching him but he ignored it just like he had been doing for the past two weeks.

He didn't know whether they were pitying him or laughing at him but whatever it was, he didn't need it. They knew Taehyung and Jungkook didn't have a romantic relationship and Taehyung knew how weird it was for a newly mated couple to stay away from each other so much like they were doing. That made them become the topic of conversation for the pack.

He heard them talk about how Taehyung spent most of his day with his parents and Jungkook didn't come home till it was late at night.

He looked straight ahead and smiled at a few people but didn't engage in any conversations.
