Homecoming was over & everything was back to normal but the tension between the twins Richie & Braden is just getting started with another competition coming. Before the homecoming several students including the Jones Twins participated for the Regional's Quiz Bee by taking up the elimination test, student with the highest score will be the school's representative.
Inside the classroom Braden was just silent drawing scribbles on his notebook while Mila on her side looks at him worried thinking of the vision she saw.
"Okay class I know some of you waited for this" Said their teacher. "Well based on the test results one stood out on the exam & will be the one representing our school. It is none other than you Mr. Richard Jones!"
"What?!?" Richie gasped.
"Congratulations Mr. Jones you got the highest score on the test together with your brother. I am sorry Braden but Richard's score is higher than yours by two points"
"No this isn't fair, Richie beat me again" Braden muttered dismayed.
"Braden" Mila called. "It's okay you did your best" She said to Braden.
"No! You don't know what you're saying! Do you know what I feel right now?"
"You're in pain, I can feel that"
"It's more than that! I suggest you just mind your own business & stay away from me!" Braden hissed at her.
After their class Braden quickly walked away as possible as he can away from the people around him. Richie knew something was wrong so he quickly approached his brother to talk with him.
"Hey Braden wait up!"
"What do you want Richie?!?"
"Aren't you gonna congratulate me?"
"Go congratulate yourself!!!"
"Braden please you have to tell me what's going on with you, because lately I've been noticing you were acting all strange to me & I want to know why?"
"Oh sure now you care"
"Braden please just tell me"
"You want to know what's wrong with me Richie? Well guess what? It's all because of you!!!"
"Me??? What did I do to you?"
"You're completely clueless on what's going on aren't you Richie??? The problem is you always taking everything that is supposed to be mine!!!"
"Braden I don't understand what you are talking about?"
"The chance to be the representative of our school for the quiz bee, it should've been me! Do you know how important that is to me huh Richie???"
"Look I am sorry Braden if it's that important to you, you could've just told me. I can fail the test so you can get the spot"
"No!!! Don't you see Richie? I am trying to prove that I am better than you! That I can surpass you in everything we do!"
"Braden you don't have to prove anything"
"Shut up!!!..... Richie you don't know what it feels like to live under your shadow, all my life all I ever heard was me being compared to you & I grew getting sick of it! You were always the special one Richie even to Mom & Dad. You always got their attention & time that's why I am so jealous of you!!!"
"No Braden that's not true we both know Mom & Dad loves us equally!"
"Richie, can't you see? You have everything; you've also taken Hayley away from me! We've been together since then as friends but you have to step in & take her from me like she's your property!"
"So you mean Hayley is the girl you were trying to ask at the homecoming?"
"Yes it's her! I like Hayley! Is it clear to you now?!?"
"Braden please let's talk about this"
"No, I am done talking to you Richie..."
"Come on Brae we can work this out we are brothers" Richie implored.
"Yes you are my brother. But you're also my rival" Braden walked away.
During their dinner awkward silence filled the room as the twins stared at each other with grief & anger so Elizabeth decided to break it.
"So boys what happened at school today?" She asked.
"Pretty much nothing Mom" Richie answered.
"Oh come on Richie you don't have to keep everything that happened a secret" Braden commented. "Don't tell me you "Mr. All Perfect" is now telling lies???"
"Braden stop it"
"Richie son what's your brother talking about?"
"Go on tell her Richie, tell them how you beat me at the test & got the spot to be the school's representative"
"Is it true what your brother is saying huh Richie??? Answer me" Elizabeth demanded.
"Yes Mom, I passed the test & I got the highest score" Richie said blue.
"Well that's great news congratulations son"
"Thanks Mom"
"Braden I know you told me this test is very important for you, but don't worry you'll get your chance some other time. But right now let's be happy for your brother Richie"
"It's okay Mom, I knew Richie will ace it like he always does. He's always been the apple of your eye right?"
"Braden I am warning you stop!"
"What's wrong Richie? Don't you like being complimented???"
"Braden what is happening to you?!?" Archie questioned. "Why are you putting the heat on your brother?"
"Because I had it of hearing Richie's name! Richie this! Richie that! Richie! Richie! Richie!!!!" Braden burst in anger.
"That's enough Braden!!! You've gone too far! You're disrespecting our parents! You're being immature!"
"So you're older than me now?!? It's because of you I am acting like this Richie. I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!!!" Braden stood up throwing his spoon & fork at Richie before walking away from the table.
"Braden come back here!!!" Archie shouted at him.
"It's okay Archie, I'll talk to him later" Elizabeth spoke. "Are you okay honey?" She checked on Richie.
"Mom I am so sorry I am sorry" Richie cried hugging on her mother.
"It's okay dear, it's not your fault we'll get through this" Elizabeth comforted.
After an hour Elizabeth went to her twins' room to talk with Braden who is lying on his bed.
"Braden honey I need to talk to you"
"Leave me alone"
"No you have to tell me what's going on between you & Richard. I love you both & I don't want you fighting"
"It's Richie Mom, I am tired of him always winning & getting all of the attention. I tried doing my best but it seems it's always Richie who gets the upper hand"
"Braden I am sorry if we made you feel this way. I am really sorry but me & your father loves you the same way we love Richie so please end this feud with your brother, I don't want seeing you fighting because I feel something bad might happen to the two of you"
"I am sorry Mom I can't make amends with Richie right now, I've been hurt too much & I need time to heal"
"Fine then, if the time comes you are ready just let me know" Elizabeth stepped out on their room.
As her mother left Braden covered his self in a blanket & let his tears fall down as he breaks down. Meanwhile Richie was in the living room looking at the picture of him & Braden when they were kids until a cold gust of wind blew in.
