Midnight.
Song slept peacefully in her bed, something she didn't seem to experience very often.
Meanwhile, just up the dirt road leading to her barnhouse, was a speeding green Corvette. In the complete and utter darkness, it began to stray from the main road, and consequently, hit a shadowed tree head on.Song, who was already a light sleeper, was immediately startled awake by a sudden crash in the night. Nervously, the twenty-four year old made her way to the front door, flashlight in hand.
Upon arriving outside at the scene, Song noticed an almost pristine vehicle nosed up against the large oak tree in her front yard.
'Strange?' She thought, 'There's barely a scratch on it. There's more damage to the tree than the--no, no, this definitely is not a normal car...'
As she cautiously made her way over to the driver's side window her heart began to race. She held her breath as she used her flashlight to search for a faction insignia, particularly on the steering wheel inside.
That proved her previous assumptions; this Corvette was an Autobot. She raised her hands up slightly while backing away, showing she meant no harm. She did what she could from smiling too brightly as her hopes were suddenly risen. The last time she'd found an Autobot at midnight was seven years ago, why shouldn't this encounter go just as well?
"It's alright, it's fine. You're safe now. I know who you are," she spoke aloud, attempting to get the cybertronian to transform... or at least respond. "No one will see you out here, especially at night. If you've got internal damage from hitting that tree I might be able to fix you up a bit. I'm not all that great of a mechanic but I'll do what I can to help. Just come inside my kennel here."
There was no apparent response. Song soon found that no amount of coaxing would get this Transformer to acknowledge her. To be fair, that was a safe move. Many humans within the nation had the motives to report the first sign of "alien activity," even if that meant tricking Cybertronians into thinking they were on their side.
Instead, she'd have to take a more direct approach--really prove she was on their side. All within the span of a few seconds, Song allowed her Protoform to take control over her human body, and became a Cybertronian.
"How about now?" Her voice in this form was slightly different in pitch, a bit deeper, per say, "Now do you believe me?"
In a similar fashion, the car transformed itself into a black and green, trenchcoat wearing, weapon wielding cybertronian.
The two metal giants stood staring at eachother for what seemed like an eternity. The mech watched Song suspiciously, searching her top to bottom with his illuminated blue-green optics.
"What in the hell--ya know what, just get us inside before we get killed out 'ere," the Autobot, who now stood a good four or five feet taller than Song, walked towards the wide barn door, letting himself in like it was his own home.
Song stood wide-eyed for a moment before following him. Once the two of them were inside, the dogs and the far side of the barn began to bark and snarl viciously at the intruder. Song effortlessly slid the huge barn door to a close behind her, and gave a quick command for the dogs to keep quiet. They obeyed, but continued to watch the green Autobot with wary eyes.
"Not even gonna ask why you keep a bunch of lousy rodents in 'ere," he growled, sitting down on rather large steel case on the opposite side of the room, furthest from the dogs.
Song ignored his comment and ambled over towards him cautiously, "So, you alright now? Do you need repairs or anything? It looked like you hit that tree pretty hard and I'd be glad to help--"
"So you're that human girl who thinks she's one of us, eh?" His voice was deep, and gruff. He sounded like he had a bit of a foreign accent...
"I... don't understa--"
"Let's just make one thing clear, fleshie, I don't trust a single one of you humans for second. Not after all the trouble you've caused! The only reason I'm in here is because I don't have much of choice right now. Don't mistake it for friendliness or loyalty," he glared at her, optics seeming to bear down into her soul, or spark, really.
She took a step back, "Now hold on a moment," she did her best to sound calm and collected, trying to think of what Optimus might say, "I know you have probably lost a lot. So have I, whether you believe that or not is up to you, but--Look, I just want to help. The first Autobots here on earth were like family to me. I... I loved them. It shattered every piece of me to watch them die. Do you really think I'd allow myself to be subject to their expirements if that wasn't true?"
A long moment of silence was procured, as if the both of them thought back to their fallen comrades in sync and were being quiet out of sheer remorse.
"What could a human possibly do to help the Autobot cause without screwing things up? No matter how much of our tech you obtain you'll never truly be one of us. And harnessing our weapons for yourself just proves you're no different from any other human," He hissed.
Song sighed in defeat, "Yeah, you're right. And you know something? I'll admit it, I'm not very intelligent. I don't know or understand the first fact about how this thing works. All I know it how to use it, and I can't even do that efficiently. But the fact of the matter is, I want to do whatever I can to help. Don't trust me not to stab you in the back? That's fine, all I ask is that you give me time to prove myself. Deal?" She held out her hand, wondering if he'd take it or not.
Instead, he stood up suddenly with a gun she didn't realize he'd been holding, and harshly pressed it to her spark chamber, "You make me regret this, and I'll kill you," his words seemed to cut through her like a knife. She nodded slowly, and he pulled away, holstering his weapon underneath his trenchcoat.
"Your designation?" She asked hesitantly as he sat back down.
"Crosshairs."
She paused, waiting for him to return the question.
He sighed and cocked his head to the side, "Yours?"
............It was painful enough to watch Que die so horribly, now Bumblebee was pushed down to the ground with a gun aimed to his head. Song, along with several Autobots, were being held captive by Decepticons in the Battle of Chicago. She would've died, had it not been for a single twist of fate.
The Decepticon warships above were failing, falling down from the sky, giving her, Bee, and the others a chance to break free. Immediately, she took the opprotunity to leap forward onto the first 'Con in her sights: Soundwave. Using her grappling hook, she latched onto his back. While he'd skillfully and severely snapped her arm, which had been some of the worst pain she'd ever expirenced, she'd managed to hold on just long enough to shoot her plasma cannon directly through his head, ending his exsistance. It was her first, and so far her only, Decepticon kill.
............"...Designation Soundbreaker. Real name's Song Westorp," she explained.
"So you're really the one who killed Soundwave then, eh? Bet you think that makes you hot stuff," Crosshairs sneered.
"No, but it makes me think I have potential."
