it was now friday and zach was at lunch with some others. he sat in between daniel and jack, silently listening to their conversation while jonah, corbyn, and two girls who zach had not met; tatum and christina, sat to the left on daniel.

zach had only knew about corbyn and jonah being jack's friends, though never met tatum or christina. according to jack though, tatum was knew who jonah noticed in the hall, and christina was corbyn's crush; causing them to sit with them.

zach learned they were all nice people and daniel adapted to them pretty well. they were already caught up in a small and silly argument about the best food.

"i believe watermelon is the best food in the world. and no one can make me change my mi-"

"but pizza!" jack exclaimed, interupting the brunette. "you can't go wrong with pizza, everyone loves it." jack stood his point, making hand gestures and turning his head to see everyone's opinion on his statement.

everyone nodded in agreement, daniel sighing in defeat an cursing under his breath. most then chuckled at daniel's behavior, zach doing the same watching his friend's silly actions.

it go slightly silent at their lunch table, some beginning to eat some more of their food. not soon after, heads perked up as jonah began to speak; asking a question.

"eben is having a party tonight, are you guys coming?" jonah directed his question to everyone at the table.

the girls and the boys nodded their heads, letting out small words consisting of 'sure' and 'yeah'. jonah nodded his head at everyone's response, not noticing zach didn't responf until he spoke up.

"i'll probably stay home," zach mumbled with a shurg, picking at his food.

he never liked parties. he was known to do stupid things while he was drunk considering he was a light drinker. in addition, he wasn't the party person anymore. he used to enjoy parties but now, he wasn't so sure.

"come on, zach." jack slightly insisted. "you'll have a good time. it'd be nice to have some fun." jack spoke lightly, not realizing the glare zach was sending him.

if anyone would understand why zach didn't like to party, it would be jack. now, jack was pressing the buttons trying to get him to go and zach knew he wasn't comfortbale and jack should have known as well.

"i said i don't want to go." zach interrupted him, rolling his eyes the slightest. these converstaions always made him on edge, it wasn't something he wanted to bring up.

"zach-"

"jack." zach interrupted, this wasn't the time for this conversation. "you know how i am, and you know why. i don't need to remind you." zach replied smally, hating this topic and not realizing the eyes of the others at the table.

zach's feelings toward the topic were hid with annoyance watching jack frown, his brown eyes never leaving zach's. zach didn't hesistate to get up and leave from his spot. he needed space.

watching zach leave made jack feel bad, extremely terrible in fact. he knew why he didn't want to go and he knew he shouldn't have pushed the boy. as jack came out of his thoughts, his gaze moved from zach's figure and back to his table to find them all staring at the curly-headed..

"what was that about?" jonah asked, directing his gaze towards his freckled friend.

"nothing," jack responded in a mumble, avoiding the taller's gaze as he stood up from his seat and began to head towards the cafeteria doors to exit the lunch room.

once the two left, it got awkward at the table; consideirng no one knew what happened and what was happening.

"don't worry, i'm sure everything will be fine. and then maybe we can all go to the party." jonah shrugged, as everyone else slowly and silently nodded.
