Updates will be slowing but shall remain mildly consistent(I hope) as I may have started another book, one that will soon be up for those that want to read it(please read it) until then enjoy this short chapter.
I couldn't find anything. Not a single thing. And that wasn't normal. I have always been able to find at least one small mention but not on this. I clearly didn't have enough books with me. Rubbing my temple as I should have been sleeping, I haven't even been here a week and most of my time consisted of reading.
But I wasn't completely restricted to glass like I should be. Obsidian could be overlooked, it was a glass, volcanic or not, and opal was pushing it but sure, whatever, metal? Metal strong enough to shatter steel? No, that can't be overlooked. Even earth elites had issues with metal, one does not make it on a whim.
I, obviously, experimented with it. Now aware that it was a possibility and a few tries later I had made a few sheets of it. I learned quite a bit in just the first tests, despite having shattered her sword, when bluntly hit it broke rather quickly. Other than that it seemed a very strong material. I, clearly, started looking into making other metals and slash or materials.
I came up empty handed but I was confident that there were a few more possibilities, you don't get everyone on the first try after all. In the middle of another attempt, an idea struck me, my gaze shifting to one of my actual swords, one I bought. If I could make metal, could I manipulate it?
Grabbing it I held it, not having any real idea what I wanted to make. Humming I stared at the unpolished iron, my fingers gingerly brushing the blade's bed. The familiar pulse of heat rushing to my fingertips as I attempted to make it... Let's go with a kitten.
With the vague image of Allerine in mind, I sighed as nothing happened. Leaning over the blade I Grabbed the boron blade I carried as more of decoration. The moment my finger brushed it, both my hands heated up, my gaze snapping to the one still placed on the iron sword four times the size of the knife.
Hissing I recoiled from both shaking my hands wildly as my shoulders tensed at the unusual but mostly familiar magic. The blades liquified into two puddles, the other materials falling to the tent floor as they merged into one. Mixing and melting they loosely took the shape of a kitten while I rubbed my palm.
The metal cooling swiftly, the smooth sleek feline skeleton didn't move as I slowly reached out, gently touching it, recoiling in less than a second, before my head fell to the side. I did it. Mostly. It should be alive and what was with the horns? Reaching out again, more confident this time, I carefully pressed against its skull softly, smooth white opal bursting free from it.
Pulling and pushing the gemstone wrapped around it like a liquid skin. Pulling tight it revealed a feline not like I originally imagined. Even as a cub, the muzzle was too long, the legs to tall, the chest too big, and the tail spiked. It sure as blazen wasn't a tiger.
Still, it was feline and those long fangs poking out from its lips were just as interested as the horns sticking form its head. It mildly reminded me of a winged lion, some having horns, but it didn't have that structure nor the fangs. Plus the little thing didn't have wings.
Carefully picking it up it cried out, the sensation I got from my dragon flowing through me as I shushed the mixed being I carefully opened its mouth with my finger, all the teeth metal. Humming as I took hold of the smooth paws I gingerly moved them, metal claws pulling free.
I couldn't make something living with the metal itself but adding onto it wasn't difficult and for it to work I had to work with two. How curious...
