Love Story

Taylor's POV

The instrumental part of Love Story plays. I am performing a set for the AMAs and obviously I have to perform this iconic song. Adrenaline courses through my veins from all the dancing and moving around on the stage. 

"I got tired of waiting..." I sing and the audience screams the words back at me. This is one of the many things I absolutely love about performing—singing songs and hearing the words being sung (or rather, screamed) back at me.

"Wondering if you were ever coming around, my faith in you was fading..." The lights dim, creating a dramatic setting for the bridge of the song, building up the suspense for the last chorus. 

"As I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said-" Unexpectedly, as I try to continue singing into the mic, I find that the mic isn't working. I look around in confusion. All the mics that my back-up singers are using are working, and my band members and back-up singers don't look shocked at all that my mic got cut off. In fact, they're all...smirking? What's happening?

Out of the corner of my eye, I spot Joe rising up to the stage with a mic. Wait, he isn't supposed to do that. What is he doing?

As he walks towards me, he starts singing, "'Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone. I've been waiting for you but you never come.' Is this in my head? I don't know what to think. He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring..."

And he does exactly what he just sang—he gets down on one knee and takes out a gorgeous ring. It has a sapphire in the middle and 2 diamonds beside the sapphire. It glitters beautifully in the bright stage lights. My free hand covers my dropped jaw and tears of joy fill my eyes. 

Before I can fully process the situation, he continues the song, "'Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone. I love you and that's all I really know. I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress, it's a love story, baby, just say yes.'" The crowd is screaming so loudly at this point that you can barely hear him sing the lyrics. As Joe starts speaking again, the screaming instantly stops and is replaced by a silence that engulfs the room as a whole.

"Taylor, I knew from the moment my eyes landed on you that I loved you more than you would ever know, and I still do. Our relationship definitely had challenges and setbacks, but what matters isn't how many we had, it's how many we overcame and how much  they strengthened our bond. Our bond and our relationship are unbreakable, and I want to spend every day waking up by your side. Taylor Alison Swift, will you marry me?"

You can feel the anticipation in the atmosphere. Everyone in the room is holding their breath, waiting for an answer. Tears of joy flow rapidly down my face. Unable to say anything, I nod my head vigorously. Immediately, screams erupt in the room, and even with my earpieces on, the sound is deafening. Not caring that we are in public, I wrap my arms around his neck and crash my lips against his. I don't know how the screams could've gotten louder, but somehow, they did. And it is at this moment when I finally understand...

It's me and him, forevermore.

A/N: the pic at the top is the ring because I needed an idea for a sapphire ring and I found that. Btw I chose that ring because the 2 diamonds at the side represent Taylor and Joe and the sapphire represents their relationship because sapphire is one of the birth stones for September, which is their anniversary.

I should really be sleeping now but I HAVE TO UPDATE BECAUSE. THE. ARCHER. IS. SO. GOOD. AHHHHHHHHHHHH. JACK AND TAYLOR SNAPPED LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO. THE LYRICS ARE SO POETIC AND BEAUTIFUL AND METAPHORICAL AND THE FOCUS IS ENTIRELY ON THE LYRICS AND NOT THE PRODUCTION OR BACKGROUND MUSIC 

AND I LOVE HOW AT THE BEGINNING SHE'S UNSURE ABOUT IF SHE WANTS TO GO INTO COMBAT AND THEN AT THE END SHE REPEATS THE FIRST TWO LINES BECAUSE SHE FINALLY KNOWS THAT HER PARTNER WOULD STAY AND SHE'S READY TO FIGHT OFF ANY BULLSHIT THAT COMES IN THE WAY OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP 

AND THE "HELP ME HOLD ONTO YOU" IS JUST UGHHHH IT'S ALWAYS AFTER SOME CHAOTIC (??) LYRICS AND HER VOICE MAKES IT SEEM SO RAW AND INSECURE AND THE HARMONY MAKES IT SOUND SO PERFECT AND THE CONTRAST JUST MAKES ME MELT

AND I DON'T NEED TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE SECOND VERSE BECAUSE THAT HIT ME REAL HARD. AND I LIKE HOW, THROUGHOUT THE SONG, SHE REPEATS SOME PHRASES OR WORDS AND IT MAKES IT SEEM LIKE ANXIETY AND INSECURITY AND LIKE IT COMES STRAIGHT FROM WHAT GOES THROUGH HER HEAD IN A RELATIONSHIP THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY BEAT ENCHANTED FOR MY FAVE SONG but we'll have to see since it's still really new. And I might actually take inspiration from The Archer for a fic (or maybe even multiple fics) as well so stay tuned for that.

AND JACK PRODUCING A LARGE PART OF LOVER? 120 PAGES DIRECTLY FROM HER DIARIES, FROM HER REAL-LIFE EXPERIENCES? OH HELL YEAH
