Working in the bau was not for the fainthearted. Having your father as your boss can give off the impression that you needed help getting on the team. Smarts is what got you into the bau along with lots of hard work. having the one you love by your side can make the hard things that much more bearable. Spencer may be a year older but Laura is just as smart.

Walking into the bullpen Laura made her way to her desk. Plopping into the seat she turned on her computer. Spencer walked to his desk with his coffee. " Babe, what's wrong?"  Spencer asked as he took off his satchel. " Aaron was throwing a tantrum when I dropped him off at Sarah's," she said as she rubbed her temples. Spencer made his way over to where Laura sat and rubbed her shoulders. " he is just fussy early in the morning plus he just turned three," Spencer said as he leaned down to kiss her neck. Smiling Laura stood up and turned to hug Spencer. Just as she pulled back Morgan and JJ walked through the doors. Laura sat back down and started working on her files. Spencer sat at his desk and pulled out his files. JJ made her way over to Laura's desk to tell her " Hotch wants to see you in his office," Laura nodded and stood up to make her way to Hotch's office.  Knocking on the door she waited for a response before opening the door. " Laura I wanted to talk with you for a minute," Hotch said motioning for you to close the door. " What's up dad?" she asked as she took a seat.  Hotch smiled as he looked down at his papers before looking back up. " I know Spencer's birthday is coming up and I wanted to know what the plan is," he asked as he waited for her response. " Well, I was planning on throwing him a surprise party,"  Laura said as she fiddled with her hands. " What's wrong?" Hotch asked as he put his pen down and got up. He sat on the edge of his desk. Shaking her head laura played with her wedding ring. " I know when something is bothering you and it has nothing to do with me being a profiler," he chuckled before he placed a hand on her shoulder. " I don't know dad it just feels like something bad is gonna happen, Aaron was fussy this morning," she said as she wiped away a stray tear. Her dad got up and pulled her into a soothing hug. Pulling back Laura smiled and fixed her makeup. " Do we have a case today or do we just do file work?"  She asked as she made her way to the door. " Just file work Laurabear," hotch said with a chuckle. Stepping out into the hall Laura smiled and closed the door. Making her way to her desk she started working on her files. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw JJ place her hands on Spencer's shoulders. Rolling her eyes she stood up to get some coffee. 

After getting some coffee laura made her way back to her desk. JJ sat perched on the corner of Spencer's desk. Sitting down Laura pulled out headphones and started typing up a report. Spencer glanced over to her desk and cocked his head to the side. JJ glanced over with a confused expression before getting up and making her way to the breakroom. Spencer got up and sat on Laura's desk. Tapping her shoulder he looked down at her lovingly. " What's wrong did you get in trouble?" Spencer asked as she took out her headphones. Shaking her head she just said " No I am just trying to work while one of my co-workers throws herself at my husband," Spencer was taken aback by her anger. He loves laura so much, and he hates seeing her angry. If he didn't love her he wouldn't have married her. Getting up Spencer made his way to the break room with a sigh. As he walked away Laura let out a shaky breath before turning back to her report. Guilt washed over her as she looked down at her ring. Spencer loved her and she knew it she just didn't like the fact that girls crowded around him as JJ did. Pushing her chair out she made her way to the break room. Stopping outside she heard Spencer and JJ talking. Listening in she heard " I have to tell you something, Spencer,"  JJ said before continuing " I love you, I think deep down I have always loved you," tears streamed down her face as Laura covered her mouth to stop the sobs. Turning on her heels she raced up to Hotch's office. Barging into the room she collapsed into the chair. " What's happened?" Her dad asked as he closed the door and crouched in front of her. " JJ loves Spencer, what if he loves her too?" she asked through the tears. Hotch pulled Laura into a strong hug as she sobbed. 

While Laura was in Hotch's office crying Morgan made his way to the break room. " What's up with Lil mamma?" he asked as he grabbed a protein bar. " What do you mean?" JJ asked as she stood up from her chair. Morgan looked between Spencer and JJ before continuing. " Well she was on her way in here a few minutes ago and then she stopped before running into Hotch's office," he said as he took a bite of his bar.  Spencer let out a gasp as he realized she had heard JJ's confession. " She heard you and she thinks I love you," he said before getting up and making his way to the door. " Do you?" Jj asked as she looked at her hands. " I love you like a sister, Laura is the love of my life,"  Spencer said before racing to Hotch's office. Knocking he waited for the door to open. Hotch opened the door with a scowl before letting Spencer in. " What did you do to her?" Hotch asked before sitting down at his desk. " I didn't do anything, Aaron, I love my wife,"  he said as he tried to get Laura to look up. " why is she crying then, Spencer?"  Hotch asked as he stood up. Laura held up her hand to stop her father. " Dad can my husband and I have a few minutes alone?" she asked as she stood up. Nodding he hugged her before walking outside to Rossi's office.  " What do you have to say, Spencer?" Laura asked as she closed the door. " What you heard was only half of the conversation," He said as he tried to hold her hand. " What more was said?" she asked as she sat down in the chair. " She told me she loved me and I told her I love her like a sister, you are the love of my life," Spencer said as he looked into her eyes. " You complete me in every way," Spencer said as she took in what he said. A small smile crept on Laura's face as she said " Sorry I just feel off and I love you so much,"  Spencer pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her forehead. " So are we ok?" Spencer asked as he leaned back to look into her eyes. " Yes we are good, I just get jealous when someone sees just how special you are to me," Laura said before kissing Spencer sweetly.
