Chapter 20 - Shade Chase

We started running back towards inkopolis.
I hoped we would make it before they saw us running.

It's probably Vanessa's fault they saw us.

She kept yelling "I SNEAK" and "sneaking" behind rocks and trees.

Agent 4 kept looking at me with the "What the actual hell is she doing?" face.

I replied with the "I literally have no idea" face.

We kept running and I kept trying to call Vanessa down but nothing was working.

We were being chased again by a mob of octolings.

I was dodging ink and rocks and trees when part of the octomob went flying into nowhere.

Shade was coming.

"Run faster.." I told Agent 4. "Why?" He asked, and I pointed behind us.

He turned back towards inkopolis and muttered "what did they do to you, Min?"

It was just loud enough for me to hear.

So Nines name was Min.

Sounded pretty.

We were getting close when the back of my neck felt like someone had dropped boiling magma on it.

I screamed.

I turned behind and glared at Shade, and for a moment I saw something.

Her eyes turned green.

It was only for a split second but I saw it, and I think Agent 4 saw it too.

I turned to him.

He looked at me.

"She's fighting the virus..." I said.

"She was always strong, and I know she can get out of this.
I know she can."

I was about to turn and run away when she screamed.

"RUN, PLEASE!" And then she doubled over and fainted.

She had fought the virus so hard that it had knocked her cold.

We made it back to inkopolis just in time for Callie and Marie to close the gate.

Callie and Marie looked at the 3 of us and said "why are there 2 octolings here, 4?

Agent 4 just said: "Agent 10 saved me from the octolings."

"And where is Agent 10?"

He pointed at me and I waved.

"Hi."
