Chapter 10 - Mystery Facility

A few hours earlier...

Nine watched in horror as Agent 10 plummeted into the ravine.

She ran to the edge and peered over. Ten was nowhere to be found.

"Aww.. no!" She said.  She fell to her knees and called tens name until her voice hurt.

"Oh, Cody.. please be alive."

Present time.

I was an Octoling now. Hurray.

We had started climbing the pile of rocks but some weird crap happened before we got to the top.

I kept hearing voices in my head. Vanessa said that happens to all octolings, but should it really be happening to me?

She said they were the voices of other octolings. I could hear thins like Octoling plotting against the inklings and making weird floating things.

Weird crap I told you. Weird crap.

So yeah.

We kept climbing and finally reached the top of the pile of rocks.

Unfortunately it wasn't an exit, but there was what looked to be a really old metal structure covered in vines and moss.

Of course we were stupid enough to enter.

After we were inside, strange things started to happen. As soon as we passed the front door the entrance collapsed with a sickening screech of metal on metal.

"Ow! My ears!"  I exclaim.

"Yes ears." Vanessa said, point at her ears.

We continued on and found some random things. We found a splattershot junior and an octoshot.

I took the octoshot and Vanessa took the trash.

I turned the corner and Saw an Octoling. "Maybe this place isn't abandoned after all." I told Vanessa. "No. Not abandoned. Used to work." She said.

I ran out to the hall the Octoling was in and started to shoot my octoshot. The Octoling looked surprised when I attacked it.

The Octoling ran through a door and disappeared.

Vanessa and I had to get out of here as soon as possible.

We ran down the halls and soon came across something that seemed like an exit. We hoped it was.

However, it wasn't.

We tried to pull the door open and all that but it didn't work. The door didn't budge.

We continued on and soon came across a second Octoling. "Best to stay sneaky." I whispered to Vanessa. "Yes. Sneak!" She said.

She jumped out. "OCTO!" She yelled. The Octoling turned around and looked at her, confused.

"HIHI!" Vanessa said. "HOW DOING?" I realized she was causing a distraction for me to get across and quickly took my chance.

Vanessa quickly caught up. I looked at her.

"Clearly you don't understand the meaning of "Sneaky.""
