The wind blows through my dark hair as I sit on a rock silently waiting. My hand reaches swiftly to my dagger when I hear a twig break nearby. Turning towards the sound, dagger in hand my eyes lock onto a rabbit and without a second thought, I let the knife lose driving it right into my target. Grinning, I make my way to my kill and begin to take it back to town. Exiting the woods, I immediately head home and skin the kill before heading to the market. First, I walk over to Mr. Drew's shop to sell the fur. Mr. Drew is District Twelve's fur trader. He is an older man with gray hair and wrinkles but always has the biggest smile on his face despite his living conditions. Entering the shop I'm immediately greeted, "Good morning, Lissa! How is our sweet fairy doing?"

I smile widely at the aging man, "I'm doing well, Mr. Drew. How are you this beautiful morning?"

"I'm doing wonderful, Dear. What do you have for me today?" He asks me.

I hand him the rabbit pelt, "Just another rabbit. Maybe I'll get something better tomorrow before the reaping."

He sighs, "I've never been a fan of that spectacle. All of those kids dying for nothing and those that do make it out are never the same."

I nod my head sadly, "I agree, Mr. Drew. It is cruel that we have to go through it but we are powerless against The Capitol. This is the last time my name's going into the drawing. I'm scared though, after this year I won't be able to protect Katniss and Prim anymore."

"I know you want to protect your friends, Darling but you can't protect them from The Capitol forever," He tells me.

"I know that but that still won't stop me from trying," I mumble. I shake my head of the topic, " How much can I get for the fur?"

"I'll give you five coins for it," He tells me with a smile.

I smile back and we make the exchange. "Bye, Mr. Drew!"

"Bye, Fairy! Good luck tomorrow!" He calls behind me.

After I leave Mr. Drew's shop I take the divided up pieces of rabbit meat and give it to some of the elderly members of the district. After distributing the rabbit to those who need it the most I walk back home to eat a supper of berries and a little rabbit meat. While I eat I look down to my right arm and stare at the work of art there. Gingerly I graze my fingers over my soulmate mark with a sigh. 'I'm never going to find you, am I? Based on your half of the mark I can tell you are strong and determined. I wish I could meet you and learn more about you. If you aren't in District 12 I'll never meet you though, huh?" I smile sadly then go to bed. 'Tomorrow's going to be a big day.'
