AN: Hello, my Lovelies! I'm so sorry that I didn't update last weekend. I went home for the weekend and ended up leaving my laptop at home. I admit I haven't been the best about writing because this is my last prewritten chapter. I promise that I'm going to get better and hopefully have some longer chapters for y'all coming up. I do want y'alls thoughts on somethings. 1.) Have y'all come up with a ship name yet? 2.) You can answer this as the story goes along because I know it's a little early but would y'all be interested in a sequel following the storyline of Catching Fire? I'm excited to read y'alls thoughts! Stay lovely!

After a peaceful dinner with the others, I head back to my room and wait for the others to go to bed. After hearing silence in the main room I quietly exit the confines of my room trying to sneak out of the suite without anyone noticing. My mission is ruined; however, when I see Haymitch sitting on the couch seemingly waiting for me. Hanging my head shamefully I take a seat next to him. "I thought you might be sneaking out tonight, Princess," He teases with a chuckle.
I lay my head on his shoulder and he puts his arm around my shoulder like a father would his daughter. "Haymitch, you know what happened earlier. I can't nor do I want to deny that pull. I want to spend as much time with him as I can before we are pitted against each other," I tell him with a sigh.
"I wanted to talk to you about that. If I remember correctly, there is a rule for soulmates in the games. Since soulmates are so rare and the chances of them being in the games together even rarer there was an exception to the only one survives rule. As long as the two soulmates are the last ones standing, they can both walk out of the arena. This could be good for you both, the crowd will love this and you will get a lot of sponsors. I will look into it and talk to his mentor to be sure, so don't get your hopes up," Haymitch says as he rubs my shoulder in comfort.
I smile widely at him, "Thank you, Haymitch. You are the best. These past five years you've been the closest thing I've had to a father figure...even though you're drunk most of the time." Haymitch and I chuckle. "I'm really grateful for you taking care of me throughout this. I know you close yourself off when it comes to the tributes because you've lost all faith. I know you fear getting close to them, then watching them die under your watch. I really appreciate that you're looking out for me despite your fear. I will do everything in my power to make sure I come back to you and everyone else in District 12."
Haymitch smiles at me and ruffles my hair, "I'm here for you, Princess. Alright, you don't wanna keep lover boy waiting. Head on up, I won't tell Effie you snuck out. Remember though, you both have training in the morning."
I smile at him and give a nod before heading to the elevator to take me to the roof. I walked out onto the roof and immediately my eyes landed on the back of a tall muscular figure which I recognize immediately. Cato is sitting against one of the sides of the elevator looking out at the night sky. Feeling my presence Cato looks up at me and his eyes light up and a bright smile makes its way onto his face. I smile back at him just as brightly and take a seat next to him. "So, do you want to play 20 questions to get to know each other better?" Cato asks.
"Sure, sounds good but we both have to answer our own question as well so we can get the most out of it. Umm, what do you like to do for fun?" I ask.
"I like to play with my younger siblings and also read. You?" He asks looking at me.
I think for a second, "I like to sing and read in the woods. The woods are my favorite place in the world. I also love to hunt for the District and spend time with my friends who are like my younger siblings."
I shiver slightly as a cold wind blows. Sensing this Cato takes off his jacket and puts it around my shoulder. "Cato, you're gonna get cold now," I argue.
Cato smirks at me and puts his arm around my waist pulling me flush against his side. "I'll just have to use you to keep me warm then, Beautiful," he says causing me to blush. Cato rubs his thumb soothingly against the bare skin of my hip and I lay my head on his shoulder.
Cato and I go on like this for the next hour asking each other questions and laughing together. "We should probably head to bed since we have training tomorrow," Cato says.
"I don't wanna go," I say as I bury my face in his shoulder.
Cato chuckles and detaches himself from me standing up. Once he's to his feet, Cato grabs my hand and pulls me up and into his chest holding me firmly but gently by my waist. My hands plant themselves on his chest and I stare into his bright blue eyes. "I know we just met, but I already feel like I've known you my whole life. I'm not going to ask you to be my girlfriend because that doesn't even begin to touch on how deeply I feel for you. Instead, I'll ask you. Will you accept me as your soulmate?" Cato asks me as we stare deeply into each other's eyes.
I smile at him sending all my happiness and love to him through our bond. Moving my right hand from his chest I gently cup his cheek and he leans into my touch. "I wouldn't want anyone else," I answer. Cato smiles at me widely and cups my hand with his placing a kiss on my palm before interlocking our fingers and leaning down to place a kiss on my forehead. I close my eyes and enjoy this moment of pure bliss.
Cato pulls away but doesn't release my hand. "We should head to bed, Baby. I don't want you to be exhausted tomorrow. I'll take you back to your suite," Cato offers.
We both enter the elevator and head down to my floor. When we arrive I look up at Cato and place my hand on the back of his neck guiding him to my level. I place a kiss on his cheek before looking him in the eyes, "Goodnight, Handsome."
Cato kisses my forehead softly before releasing me, "Goodnight, Baby. I'll see you in the morning."
I walk into our suite and make my way to bed for the night with one thing on my mind, 'I've waited for him my whole life and now that I've found him I've never been happier and I never want to lose him. I can't lose my other half.' With this last thought, I slip deeply into the land of dreams which tonight portray what our life can be like in the future especially if there were no Hunger Games.
