I am woken up by knocking on my door. “Time to wake up, Princess. Loverboy needs to bail before Effie gets up.”
    In my half-awake state, I don’t really process what Haymitch says. I snuggle into the warmth beside me and tighten my arms around it before groaning and  shouting back, “Go away, Haymitch it’s too early for your crap.”
    I feel the warmth next to me shake as it releases a low chuckle. “Come on, Baby. I need to leave before Brutus and the others realize I’m gone,” a deep voice still thick with sleep says from beside me. ‘Oh, gosh his morning voice is hot.’ Cato chuckles again. “You do know I can hear what you’re thinking right? You still have our connection open from last night.” I release him and turn my back towards him in embarrassment as I bury my face into my pillow. Cato shuffles around before I feel him kiss my head softly, “I will see you at training. I love you, Baby.” Cato then leaves the room and I get ready. After I’m ready I leave my room and ignore Haymitch as he shakes his head and chuckles at me.

    During training, I am showing Cato how to set different traps when he glances behind me and gives me a small soft smile, “You have a shadow.”
    Glancing behind me I see a little girl probably around 12. She jumps slightly when we meet eyes knowing she was caught. Her eyes show slight fear probably thinking I’m gonna be mad at her; however, I give her a kind and gentle smile. The little girl’s eyes widen in surprise before she returns the smile full-heartedly. After that encounter, I return to teaching Cato how to properly make the traps.

    Haymitch, Peeta, Effie and I are all enjoying our dinner in silence before Haymitch breaks it, “Tomorrow, they bring you in one by one and evaluate you. This is important because higher ratings will mean sponsors. This is the time to show them everything. There’ll be a bow and daggers. Make sure you use them. Peeta, you make sure to show your strength. They’ll start with District 1 so the two of you will go last. I don’t know how else to put this. Make sure they remember you.”
{Yet another Time Skip!}
    “Melissa Knight,” I hear my name called. Peeta doesn’t even look at me as I head towards the training room where evaluations are being held.
    I calmly enter the training room and present myself to the Gamemakers, “Hello, everyone! I’m Melissa Fae Knight from District 12. I appreciate your judgment on my skills.” The head Gamemaker nods to me with a kind smile to which I return. I turn and first pick up a bow and some arrows. I load my bow and take careful aim at the target. I let loose a deep breath and let the arrow fly hitting deep between the target’s eyes. I automatically reload and repeat the process to two more targets. I replace the bow to where I got it and pick up two daggers taking one in each hand. I turn to the two remaining targets and lets the daggers loose sending them simultaneously in between the target’s eyes. I turn to the Gamemakers and they look at me with shocked eyes. I smile kindly at them, “Thank you for your consideration.” The head Gamemaker nods at me and I exit the room. I don’t even wait for Peeta I just head straight up to the penthouse.

{Another Time Skip!}
    We wait patiently for the results to be broadcasted. Everyone is sitting in the living room but Haymitch. Eventually, Haymitch comes into the room and complements me, “Nice shooting and throwing, Sweetheart!” I smile at Haymitch and he takes a seat next to me. “How’d they react to someone from District 12 having such skill?”
    I shrug, “They seemed pretty surprised.”
    “I would have given anything to have seen it,” Haymitch says causing me to smile at him.
    Finally, the evaluations come on. “As you know, the Tributes were rated on a scale of 1 to 12 after three days of careful evaluation. The Gamemakers would like to acknowledge that it was an exceptional...From District 1, Marvel, with a score of nine. From District 2, Cato, with a score of 10.”
    That’s my Soulmate!
    Haha, thank you, Baby.
    “Clove, with a score of 10. From District 3...From District 4, with a score of...From District 7...From District 8... From District 8...Rue with a score of 7. Now for our final District. From District 12. Peeta Mellark. A score of 8.”
    “Nice job, Peeta,” I tell him. Peeta glares at me and ignores my comments but accepts the praise from the others.
    “And finally, from District 12, Melissa Knight. With a score of...11.”
    I look at the broadcast in disbelief as Haymitch brings me into a side hug and everyone begins to congratulate me except for Peeta who continues to glare at me.
    Just ignore him. Way to go, Baby, this is amazing! *Chuckle* You even scored higher than me.
    I’m in utter shock right now.
    “To Melissa Knight, The Girl on Fire!” Cinna toasts. For the rest of the night, we celebrate.
