You wake up smiling. You're excited to see Tae at school. You decide to put in extra effort in choosing your outfit and getting ready. He's given you a sudden burst of happiness.
You open your closet and pick out some cute clothes. You put on some jean shorts and a pink shirt that you grabbed. You straighten your hair and apply concealer to your under eyes. You don't actually look like crap today.
You smile at yourself in the mirror as you grab your phone and head downstairs. Your smile is wiped away as you pass by your parents door, but you ignore it.
You continue downstairs and greet your cousins before grabbing a banana and sitting down.
You casually do random stuff on your phone until you finish your breakfast. You stand up and grab your bag before opening the door and going to the car.
You wait in the car for you aunt and stare out the window. It's easy for you to get lost in thought. If only your parents didn't have to leave...
When you get to school, you trade back spots to be behind Tae again. It cost you more money, but worthhhhh itttttt.
The only thing is, Tae doesn't come to school that day. Or the next day. Or for the rest of the week. You're worried so much. If only you had some way to contact him.
You hope he's okay. You can't loose anyone else.
The next week at school, you don't have the same energy you did last week. You're miserable without Tae. You just need to talk to him.
You get out the car and head into the school. You gasp and run when you see his beautiful side profile staring into his locker and grabbing his things.
"Tae!"
He turns around and smiles at you.
"Where the heck were you? I was so worried? What's going on?"
"It's nothing, just some stuff going on at home."
"It's not nothing. Tell me. You know everything about me."
"I just..." His voice trails off.
"I just needed to help out with the farm a bit more than usual."
"What farm? Never mind it doesn't matter. Why?"
"I, never mind it's really not important I shouldn't worry you."
You scoff before replying.
"It is important and I'm already worried so tell me."
He looks at you with these adorable but sad puppy eyes.
He chokes.
"My parents, they l-lost their jobs."
You feel your eyebrows tilt in an empathetic way and you open your mouth to speak but nothing comes out.
He stares at you for a while and you look into his eyes. They're blank. He must've zoned out.
You finally speak, causing him to jump.
"I'm so sorry."
"It's fine it's not your fault."
"Need a hug?" You force a little smile.
He returns the smile and says,
"Always."
You awkwardly wrap your arms around him before realizing that you're ten minutes late to class.
You whisper in his ear, "We're late," but he shakes his head.
"Let's just skip. I wanna show you something."
You smile excitedly. This is the Tae you love.
He grabs your hand you laugh as he runs out of the door, leading you to a new secret place.
You end up in a field of these lovely purple flowers. It's so beautiful and mesmerizing the way that the flowers fill the open space.
You look at him and you can feel yourself gleaming.
He smiles his cute boxy smile as he lays down. Right in the flowers.
You lay down next to him and stare up at the sky.
It's so peaceful and the weather is so nice. There are some clouds in the sky, but otherwise, it's a bold blue color.
He's so close that you can smell him. He smells like vanilla and lavender. It makes this even more relaxing.
"It's beautiful here," you say.
"Yeah, this is actually a part of my farm."
"Oh, it's so nice. Do you come here often?"
"Not really. I don't get out much."
"I can help you change that," you say through yet another smile.
Why does he make you smile so much?
It's so insane how close you have gotten to him. Even though you met fairly recently, you don't think that matters. It's almost fate that brought you two together. Sad fate...
You just... like... everything about him. His laugh, his smile, his voice, his everything. Maybe it's even more than just like. Maybe it's something else.
You wonder if he feels the same way. The same connection. You hope he does. You're almost scared to get too close. Maybe you should just back up a little.
You couldn't possibly.
Tae is really the only happy thing in your life right now and you're not prepared to just "back up".
From the corner of your eye you notice that Tae opens his mouth to speak but it comes out almost inaudible.
"(Y/N)..."
You look at him but he's still looking at the sky.
"Yeah?" You ask, "is everything okay?"
"(Y/N), I purple you."
"What?" You laugh.
"Purple means to love and trust someone for a very long time. Song (Y/N), I purple you."
You stare at him.
"To love and trust someone."
"To love..."
"Love."
You stare at him and he finally looks over at you.
You try to speak but words just don't come out.
Tae... purples you?
YOU FRICKING LOVE HIM BUT YOU CAN'T SAY THAT.
Your mind is in full blown panic mode but your face remains blank.
"I-I'm so sorry (Y/N). I shouldn't have said anything," he stutters while shaking his head.
You took too long to reply. Crappp.
He begins to stand up but you stop him.
"Wait Tae, no."
"I shouldn't have said that. It's too soon."
"No Tae. It's not. I... purple you too."
You smile and say the last part calmingly.
"Not just saying that to be nice?"
"Never."
He smiles back and lays back down.
"Maybe let's just skip the rest of the day."
