Time Skip

You wipe away as many tears as you can before jumping into the shower. You need to wipe away all the filth and pain of today. You want to forget today ever happened. You need to forget. Everything that happened today has to be forgotten. You wish you could go back. You wish you made different choices. Sadly, everything has changed. Nothing is the same. Nothing is okay.

The word "okay". People abbreviate it into shorter forms. "K", "OK", even "Kay". It's usually informal and used in messaging. If someone was to ask you how you were, chances are you'd say that you're "okay". If someone asked right now, you'd say "not okay". You don't usually tell the truth, but if someone wanted to know at this very specific time, you'd tell the truth. You don't know why, but you don't feel like putting on a mask. You feel like crying.

You can hear the little "pitter patter" of the rain pouncing on top of the roof and hitting the gutter. It creates a scared feeling of sadness that floods throughout your whole self. It's everywhere. All you can feel is pain. You feel nothing else. Physical pain, mental pain.

Pain.

You run your fingers through your hair and sob uncontrollably. You're an idiot. You should've gone back. It's your fault. It's all your fault. It's your fault that he's probably dead.

Present Time

You fell asleep under the night stars laying down in the field of bright purple flowers. You felt so much happiness which was almost unfamiliar. You forgot what it was like to feel true happiness. Not a mask, but real. Tae made you completely happy. You couldn't even describe the way he made you feel.

Tae held you close providing warmth and comfort. You loved the way he smelt and held you close to him.

You pointed out and named stars with him until your eyelids grew heavy and began to hurt from the sleep deprivation.

You told him that you and him should just sleep right there, under the stars. Any excuse to stay with you, he took. It made you feel so special inside and out. The way someone could actually like you so much, the way Tae does is just so amazing. You no longer felt weird or nervous around Tae. He likes— no, he "purples"— you.

Your eyes open to a bright hot sun shining above you. It was a little chilly outside, but Tae's warmth still radiating onto you made you warmer.

The sky was speckled with medium-sized gray clouds. You could tell by the humidity that it was going to rain. You hate the rain. You need to get back home before the sky even has a chance to rain.

You nudge Tae awake and he smiles as he pulls you back down close to him so that he can hug you tightly.

You both decide to go to his house as he takes his hand in yours after standing up. He pulls you up and begins leading you to the house. In about two minutes, you're in the house that you woke up in on the night of... the accident.

He makes you a cup of tea and you sip it slowly. (a/n- not a cup of tae don't even comment it loll)

You don't know why you find it cute that he makes the tea so uniquely. You're weird and you know it. Every. Single. Thing. He. Does. Is. Cute. What?!

After you finish your tea, (not tae ;)) Tae gives you some rice cakes which you eat quickly and then offers to walk you to your house. On the way, it begins pouring down rain. Crap. You gasp as you feel your arms and clothes slowly getting soaked. He looks confused at first, but then his face softens into a more understanding look. You and Tae break out into a jog.

When you're getting close to your neighborhood, Tae trips on literally nothing.

"What the hell?" He exclaims as he notices a string tied between a tree and a bench.

He groans as he tilts his head back in pain.

"Are you okay?" You asked concerned.

"Yeah, I'll be oka—" His voice is cut off by his arm getting shot by something.

You gasp and cover your mouth in shock. You step backwards a few times before swearing under your breath. Nononono.

He screams in pain and you begin running as you hear more gun shots.

Your thoughts are everywhere.

Tae.

Parents.

Death.

Guns.

Bullets.

Loss.

Pain.

Sadness.

No...

Tae...

You pause dead in your tracks and notice you're crying. You need to go back for Tae. You need to save him. You need to know if he's okay. He needs to be okay. Where all was he shot?

You crumple into a ball and begin crying. Hard. All your happiness from earlier leaves you and you're left with only pain itself. You hear footsteps and an old lady kneels down next to you.

"Are you okay dear? Here let me call you a taxi."

And that's how you found yourself outside of your house. You sadly walk in and wipe your tear stained cheeks. There's really no use because you begin crying again anyways.

You decide to take a shower to wash away some of the day. Maybe it'll help you feel better. You hate the sound of the rain. Nothing good ever happens in the rain. Name one thing good that even happened while it was raining. See? Nothing.

Tae got shot. He might not be okay. You're not okay. What have you done? You should've gone back. You're weak.

Tae would've gone back for you.
