Chapter Nine

House Rules

Back In New York City

I'm not going to lie, I was nervous to be back in New York. I haven't been back since my grandparents death, and I gotta say that it was giving me anxiety.

"Get comfortable, we'll be here for a few hours." Sonny said. We had just got on board of his private jet, it was huge and pretty amazing if you ask me. I looked around in awe.....my mouth dropped in amazement! "You like it?" Sonny grinned at me.

"Like it? I love it!" I giggled taking a seat.

"Hungry? Thirsty?" Sonny sat across from me."

"To be honest Sonny....I'm nervous and when I'm nervous I can't eat." I admit "I haven't been to New York in years every since....you know." Sonny nodded and his crossed his legs.

"I get it. Everything is moving so fast, you have to change your environment, the way you live and more. You know about what I do and now that you're with me I have to protect you, so there will be rules." Rules? Was I child or something? I scrunched up my face, Sonny laughed "Rules to protect you."

"Okay well explain these rules." I made sure to ask with attitude to show him that I wasn't happy with his rules.

"One being that you may never leaves the house by yourself.....two mind your business and don't ask shit.....three you must take a class to defend yourself." I gesture him to keep talking "You will learn how to shoot and fight in case of emergency." I raised and eyebrow, Sonny picked up his phone and began texting on it leaving me with my thoughts and of course many questions. I yawned and stretched, Sonny looked over at me and spoke "Tired?" I nodded.

"I didn't sleep much yesterday." He pats the seat next to him, I got up and sat next to him and balled up. I leaned my head on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep.

After a few hours, we finally arrived at the home. It was huge and beautiful!
Something out of a fairy tale "This is amazing, this place most cost about a zillion dollars." I heard chuckles around me, this place is what every girl dream of raising a family.

"Let's get you inside."

The inside was amazing, better than the outside! Sonny gave me a tour of the house, the place was about 50,000 square feet. There was about 100 rooms, a big basement, a gym, shooting range, two kitchens, game room, pool room, Sonny office, movie theater and so much more. It had elevators because there was so many stairs and floor, I had to pinch myself because I had to be dreaming! "Sonny this is amazing! How can you afford this?" We were at the last stop of the tour which was my room, Sonny was standing in the doorway.

"No questions, remember?" I sucked my teeth and rolled my eyes. "Now come on, I want you to meet the important people here." We walked down the hall, to the elevator all the way to the dining room where everyone was to meet. Once we got there, everyone was sitting at table , food was set throughout the whole table.

Some faces were familiar, like Sonny mom and the three guys who were with Sonny at the club. Then it was some cute blonde girl, she had blue eyes and was absolutely stunning! "Sit next to ma." I nodded and sat next to his mom, she smiled and pecked my cheek.

"How are you darling?" She whispered

"I had better days." She half smiled and nodded her head in understanding.

"So I want to welcome our guest, a family friend since childhood. She'll be moving in and staying here permanently." The blonde hair girl didn't look too happy "There some sneaky shit going on and I'm not happy about it....at all! All six of y'all are my main people, I trust everyone here." Sonny went on and on, no one said a word and they all listened.

"How is adding another person good for business?" Blondie asked, I looked at her and she glared at me. "There's too much shit going on and adding another person isn't going to make it easy to catch the rat!" Sonny groans and he looked really pissed, I decided to speak up for myself.

"No disrespect, me being here wasn't a choice. Someone wanted me gone, I care for Sonny more than myself sometimes." I looked at Sonny, he didn't have a smile on his face but I can see it in his eyes. "The Capone's are like my family and family sticks together.....I'll put my life in the line to protect this family!" Everyone looked impressed, not blondie though.

The room was silent, everyone just looked at each other. Sonny took his seat finally "Now with that being said, let's eat."
