Chapter Twelve

Keep Your Friends Close, But Your Enemies Closer!

Two Weeks Later

After that night me and Lucas grew closer, we still didn't have sex and we both agreed to sex when it was the right time. He made life here a little bit easier, every once in a while we would go out and hang out. I barely seen Sonny anymore, I spent most of my time working out and at the shooting range, Lucas by my side all the time helping me. I would cook every night, hang with Sonny mom in the library and ran into Ashley here and there.

I was currently in the gym doing my morning workouts. "55.....56.....57.....58" I counted as I was doing my sit ups. When I got to 60 I stopped, I heard someone clapping behind me making me turn around "Hey there." Lucas walked over to me shirtless, crouched down and kissed my lips.

"Went running?" He helped me stand up.

"Yup did 10 miles today." He started to shadow box.

"That's it?" I joked, getting into a squat position.

"Like you can do 5 miles." He fires back. "Damn you looking good girl." He came to stand behind me, moving as I did.

"What's the plan for today?" I asked

"Packing and more packing. The fellas are heading to LA for some business deal." I stopped doing squats and turned to face Lucas disappointed "I know I should have told you. But you know how Sonny gets.....blah blah blah."

I crossed my arms "When are you leaving?"

"Tonight." He said without looking at me.

"Tonight! So soon?" I rolled my eyes then remembered what business he was in. Someday he didn't even know what was going on, no questions asked and just go with it. "I understand, I'm not mad at you." I wrapped my arms around his neck and stood on my tippy toes to kiss him.

"I'll make sure to see you before we leave." He said

"Promise?"

"Promise."

I walked down the hall, it was late in the afternoon and I wanted a snack.  As I walked down the hall I spotted Sonny packing in his room, I stood in the doorway and knocked on the door. He quickly turned to me and waved me in, "Hey stranger." I joke.

"Long time no see huh?" I nodded taking a seat on the bed "Whats been going on?" He asked finishing packing.

"Nothing much, been busy with Lucas. He's been really helpful and helping me with a lot of things." Sonny looked at me while I spoke, his eye reading something that I couldn't make out. "I do miss hanging with you though.....you'll always be the number one guy in my life." I stood up to leave, giving him a kiss on the cheek. I walked out the room and down the hall I went, into I felt someone tugging me into a dark room.

"Stay away from Sonny you hear me!" Ashley threatens.

I shoved her hand off my wrist "Who the hell are you to tell me what to do? I knew him before you." I said standing my ground.

"I don't give a fuck!" She shouted "That's my man and I want you to keep your dusty lips off him, you have your own man!" I laughed and crossed my arms, was this chick serious?

"Listen to me and listen to me very clear." I stepped to her face, I was so closed that I could kiss her. "If I wanted Sonny, I would have Sonny. Don't feel threatened unless I give you a reason." I rolled my eyes and bumped her before leaving her alone.
