i watch as evangeline smiles while we dance, the song soon coming to an end
stand with my arms around her waist, as hers are against my chest, playing with the buttons on my shirt while the tune of a new song begins to play
she looks up at me, her eyes wide
" you know the song? " i ask and she furrows her eyebrows
" you don't? " she responds and i chuckle
" shine bright like a diamond " the song starts and i immediately recognize it as diamonds by rihanna
" ah " i say and she smiles, beginning to dance
i smile as i watch her dance, knowing this was something she must've been very passionate about
a little bit into the song, she comes back to me, panting
" all this dancing is making me tired " she breathes out and i laugh, wrapping my arms around her waist, as she wraps hers around my neck while she hides her face in my chest, catching her breath
" can i tell you a secret? " i ask, slightly squeezing her waist and she looks up at me, nodding
" i knew who you were before we met " i say and she furrows her eyebrows
" how so? " she questions
" august would always talk about his girlfriend arabella and her best friend evangeline. not to mention when arabella would come over and hang out with us, your name was somehow brought up every five seconds " i say and she chuckles
" so, you already knew what college i go to? and what i study? " she questions and i laugh, nodding
" and how old you are " i say and she laughs, looking down
" but there was two things i didn't know " i say and she cocks an eyebrow
" which would be? " she asks
" the meaning behind your name " i say and she laughs
" well not a lot of people know " she shrugs
" and the other? " she continues
i bite my lip
