Pop's Waitress

"Come on Toni you gotta take a risk."

"Sweetpea, I don't want to risk my life, it's good."

"Antoinette Topaz your life is tragic, you've been working here since sophomore year of college."

"Shut up Fangs! My life is safe and stable. And Pop says I'm the best waitress he's ever had." I rolled my eyes.

"You're an amazing photographer, just start off with a wedding. Or a magazine." Sweetpea said clueless.

"Do you know how hard it is to get on a magazine." I crossed my arms and leaned back.

"Ask Jug's girlfriend to get a job at the Register. You know to photograph for the paper."

"Sweetpea, Jug and Betty got married a year after college. You walked down the aisle with Polly Cooper."  Fangs said lightly punching his shoulder.

"Right, I forgot." He said thinking back to when he was twenty-two.

I looked at him and rolled my eyes. "I'll ask for a part time job there, I'm not quitting Pop Tate. He's like the father I never had." I said looking over at the loving manager of Pop's thinking about the times we sat and he gave me advice or we laughed about our inside jokes. Or even when he praised my pictures. "I love Pop and I don't wanna leave him."

I picked up my phone and saw the time, "My breaks over see ya later."

"See you," they called after me in unison. They got up and left.

A few moments later the bell rang and I looked up. The most beautiful girl walked in. She had ginger hair, fair skin, and flame scarlet lips. She was wearing a gorgeous black crop top with a red plaid zip skirt. The skirt was my favorite, we serpents love our plaid. I walked over to her and her squad.

"Hi, what would you like to order." I spoke in the kindest voice I had.

She was staring at me and and I couldn't keep my eyes away from hers.

"Oh, um I'll have a rainbow milkshake and some onion rings." One of the girls two other girls said.

"Okay, and you?" I said turning to the other side of the booth facing the other one of the girl. "Um, a vanilla milkshake and a burger with fries." I wrote down her order and turned to the redhead signaling for her order, "Cherry Cola and a salad."

"Okay I will be back with your food soon." I smiled and walked away, "Why were you staring at her?" I heard the girl whisper behind me. As I reached the counter I gave Pop the order and sat down to wait. The whole time I was thinking about the girl I just unofficially met.
