Veronica pointed at Betty, Archie, then Jughead singing, "You are my homie, lover, and friend. You light me up inside like the Fourth of July. Whenever you're around I always seem to smile." It was the Fourth of July and Karaoke Night at Pop's. After five months Heather came to have a holiday to remember. Veronica was running around the basement under the building holding the wireless microphone. Her friends could tell she was drunk. After she finished it was Cheryl's turn and she got on the stage and sung Oath by Cher Lloyd with Josie and Heather. After that song Veronica convinced Cheryl to have a drink and they didn't stop. The two extremely drunk girls sung Royals four times. Their lovers tried to get them to stop drinking but they only got half drunk themselves.
Cheryl convinced Betty to sing Bang Bang with her and Veronica. Veronica got all her closet girls to sing Woman Like Me. After that song Cheryl stumbled out of Pop's onto the dark empty streets of Riverdale humming the tune of I Kissed a Girl. She could barely walk straight and she didn't even know where she was going but she continued on walking in the middle of the road. Cars passed by managing not to hit her.

At Pop's Heather noticed Cheryl was gone for a while. She asked everyone if they knew where her drunk friend was.

"Pop, where did Cheryl go?"

"Uh. I think I saw her leave." Heather went to Jughead and Betty her only other sober friends.

"Cheryl left." Betty's happy face turned to a frown.

"We have to go." Betty said grabbing her coat. "Jug, go drive to Sweetwater." Jughead nodded and ran to his car knowing how Cheryl got on the Fourth of July. "Come on we gotta get the keys from Ronnie." Betty said walking to her friend on the stage.

"V, your car keys where are they?"

"What?" Veronica screamed.

"Your keys V," Betty said before Veronica pulled out a hundred dollar bill. "No Veronica give me your keys."

"In the purse." Veronica said before Betty dragged her off the stage. Veronica waved bye as Betty brought her outside to the car.

"Get in V." Betty pointed at a seat for Veronica.

The girls drove around looking for Cheryl then they saw her on the bridge. They hopped out the car and ran to the girl who was climbing on the rail.

"Cheryl stop!" Veronica screamed as Cheryl was walking on the edge trying to balance.

"Cousin!" Cheryl said as Betty reached her, "I'm going to be with Jason. You'll see me soon."

"Cheryl no. No you have to stay here. It's not time for you to see Jason. Come down."

"I'm going Betty." Cheryl said in a mad voice then it changed to a sweet tone, "Wanna come?"

"No Cher."

"Come on cousin. It's time you really got to know him." Cheryl held her hand out for Betty to grab and climb up.

"Cheryl, come down. You can't leave us in a world without you." Heather said.

Even though Veronica was just as drunk a Cheryl she was as serious as Betty, "Cheryl don't leave Toni."

"Oh, will you tell her I love her? Thank you." Cheryl said before turning around. "Look its Hobo! I'll tell him I love him before I go." She pointed down at the bottom where Jughead was standing looking around for her.

As Cheryl jumped the girls screamed her name. They began crying, "Jug get her!" Betty screamed looking down over the rail. Jughead dove in the water where she fell. Though he wasn't able to see he found her and swam up. He went to the shore where the girls were crying. Betty had called Toni. She was speeding over with Archie and Josie.

"Help us!" They all screamed as Heather kneeled down and started giving her chest compressions while she cried. "Come on Cher," Heather said before giving her mouth to mouth. She sat up and Cheryl still wasn't breathing.
