My mom, my stepdad, Hank, and I finally made it to San Fernando Valley California. When I was getting my stuff out of the uhaul I saw a really cute Hispanic guy walking towards the house next to ours. I guess he's our neighbor I thought. Then as I was trying to carry my box with all my baseballs, my glove, bat and trophies, It was kinda heavy so I dropped it. When i dropped it, the cute boy saw and came to help me.
"Need help with that?" He said
"Yes, it's really heavy." I chuckled nervously.
"By the way, my name's Benjamin Rodriguez, but my friends call me Benny"
"Well my names Casanova Ruth, but I go by Cass, or Cassie." I said.
"Wait? Your Babe Ruth's Daughter??"
"Yes sir."
"I've always wanted to meet you, I'm sorry about our dad." He said
" it's a pleasure to meet you, and it's ok."
He helped me put the rest of my boxes into my room, an we talked for a while until my mom called me down for dinner. As we we walking down, I heard another voice that's when we realized, that Benny's mom was having dinner with us as well.
"Why hello dear, you must be Cassie, I'm Mrs. Rodriguez but you can call me Lauren." Benny's mom said
"Hi." I said shyly.
"Benny, Cassie, sit down food is about done." My mom said.
When food was done, Me and Benny sat next to each other and enjoyed the food which was Lasagna, my favorite!
After we had desert which was ice cream sundaes, also my favorite.
Then Benny and his mom had to leave.
"Bye Cass, i'll meet you here at 8:00 am , ok?"
"Ya, sure Ben, see you tmrw."
"Benny, wait!!"
"Yeah?" Benny questioned
"we never exchanged numbers."
(A/N: I forgot to mention, this story is in 2019 not 1962, so they have iPhones. And all the characters have iPhone X's, but Benny has a blue iPhone XR and Cassie has a yellow iPhone XR)
"Ohh yeah right, here." Benny said as he gave me his number and I gave him mine.
"Thx, Benny!!"
"No problem Cassie, bye!"
"Bye!"
After Benny and his mom left I went straight to bed and changed into shorts and my dads jersey, and fell right asleep when I got into bed.
