Chapter 2 - Major Discovery

Jane's POV

"We had a nice picnic out in the mountains, the sun was shining and it was just perfect" Max said over the phone.

"Awww cute" I replied back.

"I know right, to be honest I'm glad we both decided to have our first date in the outdoors, because God knows if he took me out to a fancy restaurant, no way am I dressing up." Max responded back with an ugh! attitude, I can imagine her gagging and rolling her eyes over the phone.

I giggled "yeah what a shame, I'm sure Lucas would go against you on that one."

"I'm serious, I can still look stylish just minus the heels and flimsy skirt, you know how I am El that's just not how I roll."

Max and the rest of the gang never call me Jane, they've always known me as Eleven or El for short. I'm glad that no one around here in England knows of my past and I'd like to keep it that way.

I sigh "Max sometimes you just need to drop the tomboy act for just one night and embrace the young woman inside of you."

I heard Max gasp and giggle in amusement "Are you lecturing me El? Wow! Who thought I'd never see the day when El the girl who couldn't tell the difference between bad and good screams would give advice to someone like me."

I laugh in response "Hey! I learned from the best, but for real consider it okay?"

"Yeah yeah whatever El, look I have to go now okay Lucas asked me to come over today, but it was so good catching up with you."

"Hey it's no biggie, I'm glad that you called. I miss you, tell the rest of the gang I said hi and give them my love."

"Yes, of course El, we're here if you need anything. Just call or text. Love you El bye."

"Same here, love you too, bye."

I got off work at around 5pm and drove home. When I caught up with Max the other day we were just talking about how things were going and where our lives lead us to in terms of study, work, love etc. Not a day goes by that I stop thinking about them, my friends, the ones who were there for me, fought by my side, teach me how to be a kid and have fun. No matter how messed up our lives have become ever since Will's disappearance and discovering the Mind Flayer in the upside down world I couldn't imagine having to live this life if it weren't for those two series of events.

I got out of the car and was walking up to the door, but stopped instantly when I saw an envelope taped to the front of it. The envelope was closed with a red seal that seemed to be made of wax and had the initials "H" with 4 animals consisting of a lion, snake, badger and an eagle engraved into a shield. It was a really interesting envelope as it looked quite old and traditional like in some way. I took it off the door, went inside my apartment and opened it to a letter which it read:

Dear Jane Hopper

My name is Professor Albus Dumbledore and I am the headmaster at The Hogwarts School of Magic for wizards and witches. I know this may come as a surprise to you, but I've heard and read about what has been going on in the muggle world, specifically in your hometown of Hawkins. Please do not panic, I am not going to hurt you or any of your friends and family as I know and understand what you have all been going through. It has come to my attention that we need students with special abilities like you to be considered here at Hogwarts for the very reason of taking down the most darkest and powerful wizard of our time, Voldermort. In our world it is highly unlikely of us to consider taking in muggle or in other words non magic students, but I am making an exception for you because you have experienced the worse and fought off the darkest creature of your time.

I know you have decided to settle down and live a happy life here in England, but I wouldn't have asked for your help if it weren't serious. You don't have to worry about anyone discovering your true identity if you choose to come to Hogwarts, because I will make sure that your records are being kept confidential and only under my authority. I will give you 4 months to learn magic spells and how to use your wand as well as an extra 2 months for you to practice and control your psychokinetic abilities.

Once you have accepted my request to attend Hogwarts I will send out your resources, schedule and uniform. Don't worry Jane you will have help during your 6 months of magic preparation as I will send you one of my elves, Dobby to be your teacher. He is the only other person whom I can trust to keep a careful watch eye on you, ensure your safety and is very understanding of your situation and circumstance.

Please consider my offer and think about what I have said. I will give you 2 weeks from now to come up with your decision. I know this is all "shocking news" and might "sound crazy and unbelievable", but you and I both know that there are negative forces at work despite of where we are. If you have any questions just write on the back of this letter and I will receive your message. Until then...
