Jane's POV
"I was wondering who are the remaining death eaters or followers of the dark Lord?" I asked Professor Dumbledore.
I was sitting in his office here at Hogwarts and feeding Fawkes his breakfast.
"When the dark Lord died the death eaters who bore his mark were no more. However since he's not officially dead and his spirit remains possessed in some unknown wizard he has a chance to start up his army of new death eaters again."
"But Draco and his family they were death eaters why are they not gone?" I wondered.
I remember the conversation where Ron and Hermione were arguing over Draco being a death eater and such. To be very honest I kind of felt bad for him I mean if you were given a choice to fight against or for the dark Lord, but felt threatened and forced because it was a life or death situation, I'd be pretty scared. However, I don't think Draco was raised with that kind of motivation and faith to fight back against the dark Lord.
"They are ex death eaters and there were a few others who went against the dark Lord before he died so they aren't affected." Professor Dumbledore clearly stated.
"If we are to find which wizard is being possessed I can't just go raiding peoples brains you know? It will take forever."
"I've known Voldermort ever since he was a young boy. He went by the name Tom Riddle. A very troubled young boy, but a powerful wizard indeed who had potential. However, along the way he was lost, fell into the pit of darkness. He never experienced different emotions besides aggression and greed because he was conceived under a love potion that his mother gave to his father. It is known that a wizard or a witch who has been conceived under a love potion will be born with the absence of feeling happiness and love. Many years I've trained that boy because I saw something special in him, but that something special was very dark and dull. I couldn't see that in him because I was blinded by my ambition for him to succeed and be happy." He explained and gave me a solemn look.
"You can't always make people good Professor, you can only hope they make the right decisions. Yikes! That's just said how Voldermort had a shitty as upbringing and now he's in too deep to be rescued unfortunately. He practically lives in despair." I shuddered at the thought but brushed it off like nothing, because I was use to this kind of experience despite of it being completely different.
Will said when he was possessed with the mind flayer he could feel his thoughts and sense when he was needed. A skin crawling, chilling and cold experience it was for him. His experience compared to Billy's before he became the new host of the mind flayer was pretty drastic and bizarre especially for a young boy like him. However, Billy was no different either because he didn't deserve to go through all of that especially when he was being abused by his father at home and took out his frustrations and anger on Max. I remember the day he died, when he sacrificed his life to save mine once he broke the bond with the mind flayer. I felt his pain, his suffering, anger and sadness bottled up within him during all those years ever since his mother left, within that moment I was hoping and praying that I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and for my sake at the time by reminding him of that one happy memory in California when he was a young boy as my last chance to bring Billy back. At that thought I wondered.
"On a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being very unlikely, 10 being very likely. Is it possible for a wizard or witch conceived under a love potion to experience at least 1 happy or somewhat happy moment?" I asked
"If you're talking about in general I'd give it a 5 because there is a 50/50 percent chance that a child can be raised by a loving family or by someone who cares about him or her so much that the child conceived under a love potion has a chance to experience true love and pure happiness. However, if you're referring to Voldermort, I'm sorry it's definitely a 1 because he grew up in an orphanage and was basically surrounded by people who misunderstood, disliked and were scared of him. He didn't have loving parents or people around to care for and teach him the ways of life. For someone like him, he really needed the right support and guidance beginning at birth to avoid the curse from occurring which is the absence of love and happiness."
