July 3rd

Harper kicked her feet in the stream letting the water blanket her feet in a sheer coating. Sighing at the refreshing feeling it gave her. Trying her best to keep her skirt dry she scrunched it up against her waist so it was barely covering her upper thigh. Dipping her hand in the water she touched the back of her neck to cool her down. The hot weather still plaguing the town and no one knew when it was going to slow down it just felt like it was a never ending cycle of rain and then sweltering heat. Her wings not best pleased with the weather drooping ever so slightly the life from them drained. Since that fateful day Harper had refused to see Finnegan and he got the message leaving her alone. He was a lying dark angel and she was wrong to trust him , wrong to let him take those rose tinted glasses off her. Luckily she was alive to tell the tale but there were many others which danced in the fire with death and didn't see another day.

"Fancy seeing you here Clancy." Finnegan mutters his umbrella firmly over his head as Harper's eyes cracked open just slightly. She wasn't in the mood to talk to him.

"Go away Finnegan you hurt me. You said you wouldn't hurt me as long as I did what you said. But you did it any way. Leave me alone." Harper states taking her feet out of the stream walking over to her picnic blanket that was a stones throw for where she was sitting searching for her water bottle filled with raspberry lemonade she made this morning with the fruits from her garden.

" Clancy please don't shut me out. You need me you know it. I make you feel alive even if it makes you sick. You thrive from it just like I do. Bad things are made for bad people to make them feel whole. Shutting me out is just going to make it worse believe me. I know." Finnegan begs and Harper smirks at him as she takes a sip from her water.

"Finnegan Ridley begging me for forgiveness I thought I would never see the day. Actually I never thought I would see the day a dark angel said sorry for their actions. It suits you." Harper replies as Finnegan frowns in confusion pulling his sunglasses so they lay in the bridge of his nose rather than covering his eyes.

"But you hurt me. Every time I change , get in the shower I see these five marks on my chest. I feel them burn every time I try and do anything. You did that. You almost killed me. I can't forget that Finnegan. Once a murderous angel always a murderous angel. Just admit it you wanted me to be one of your body count , you were just waiting for the right moment and I gave it to you that day." Harper questions re screwing the lid back on her water bottle to stop it from leaking when she chucked it back in her bag.

" Harper please. I swear on my life. I didn't mean to I don't know what came over me." Finnegan begs

His hand tickled the side of her hips drawing circles in it with his middle finger smiling to himself he kissed her on the forehead one last time.

"You know what to do Finn." A deep manly voice whispered in his ear. Grimacing slightly he prayed she didn't feel it.

Dragging his finger up her arm her eyes fell closed clearly enjoying being in his arms. A single tear rolled down his cheek and he wiped it away as quickly as possible not wanting her to feel it.

"Are you ok Finn ?" She questioned her voice small and barely audible as Finnegan wiped the underneath of his nose where a little bit of snot had trickled out.

"I'm fine petal. Just a bit of allergies that's all." Finnegan reassured her kissing her forehead as she snuggled back into his chest clearly finding what he had said to be fine.

His hand falling back against her arm he turned her around so her back was flush against his stomach swaying with her to the song he was humming. Trying to distract himself anther tear rolling down his cheek splaying into the top of her head. His free hand making its way ever so slowly to her neck.

"I'm sorry." Finnegan whispers

"Leave me alone!" Finnegan shouts out as Harper glares at him in confusion. As his hands began to shake the rings on them clattering together ever so slightly. Reaching into his pocket he fished out a small vile of amber liquid throwing it back like his life depended on it. Calming him instantly wiping his mouth.

"Are you ok?" Harper questioned and he nods.

"Just some baggage Clancy. Nothing I can't deal with. But umm if you aren't going to forgive me I have a long list of people I would much rather spend my time with. You know Ridley has needs he needs to fulfil so toodles." Finnegan states roofing away in a cloud of smoke leaving Harper dumbfound as to what she had just witnessed.

Did she do that to him. Did she hurt him with her blood curdling scream that day. Did they both walk away with scars neither could ever fix. It wasn't like a little super glue would make it all go away. No wonder there was clear lines between what makes you good and what makes you pure. The moment it starts to mix people get hurt , people change and sometimes it is for the better but some times it is for the worse. Sometimes you have scars that keep you up at night that won't ever leave you alone no matter the hour.

"Who are you Finnegan Ridley and what have you done to my life?" Harper questioned as she picked up her handbag and picnic blanket tucking her hair behind her ear to keep it off her face touching her chest lightly holding her breathe for just a moment as it stung when she touched it still. It was no less raw than it was the day he did it.

Her scar was never going to heal but only she and he knew that. If her uncle found out he hurt her the pitchforks would be out and not only would he have a death warrant over his head but all of his kind would. Pure angels seemed nice but when one of their own got hurt it was the only time they exuded anger that was set aside for the dark angels. They justified it as they called it restoring the peace you know like an eye for an eye. But for some reason even though she knew she had to get back at Finnegan for hurting her she didn't want to much like many dark angels he had his reasons everyone does. Sure he kills on the regular , sure he fucks any thing that can walk , sure he is so utterly up him self it is disgusting to hang around. But that is what Finnegan Ridley so special he was so inextricably him she couldn't help but love how freely he lived. That was why she enjoyed being bad with him. He didn't take life so seriously like pure angels he lived in the moment like it was his last and maybe just maybe that was what Harper had taken away from him.
