"Now I am going to take you to my favourite spot in the whole entire world." Finnegan states his hand firmly intertwined with Harper's.
The two inseparable at the moment mostly because Finnegan wanted to protect her. Her mind was easily swayed in all different directions and he also thought if he was around her no other bad forces would try their luck. The nightmares had been getting more intense even when she played them down he knew. He knew the were getting harder to cope with because of him. So in a way by having her by his side he felt like he was kind of doing something.
"Finn. This is literally your conservatory you took one step out of the main house into." Harper replies as Finnegan glares at her.
Clearly not pleased with the fact she didn't like where he had taken her. It was his favourite place as he had all the amenities of home but could still look outside at the stars without being in the elements. Granted he never stepped foot into it in the daylight that would be stupid. Night time was Finn time. Guiding her to the sofa he sat her down telling her to wait one moment as he popped into the kitchen grabbing a bottle of god knows what as all she heard was a sound of popping and a string of curses. Giggling at him clearly failing to do a simple task typical Finnegan.
Noticing a photograph on the wall she stood up walking over to it to get a better look. It was of Finnegan with his arms wrapped around a girl from behind on the beach.
"Finn stop ... I don't want to get wet." Lilibeth screamed as he pulled her towards the crashing waves.
"Too bad darling. Did you really think I took us to the beach to not." Finnegan whispered in her ear as she giggled.
"Clancy!
This is what I like to call a Ridley classic." Finnegan exclaims handing her a glass full of brownish liquid with a pink mini umbrella dancing around the rim of the glass. Harper stared at it in confusion trying to work out what he actually did.
"You just decanted liquid into the cup and added an umbrella didn't you." Harper mutters as Finnegan sighs in annoyance like a child who couldn't get their parent to believe in the magic.
Harper knew the feeling when she tried to tell Neil his teddy bears came alive when he wasn't in the room. He would just stare at her like she was the most ridiculous person on the planet. Throwing himself onto the sofa across from the one Harper had previously been sitting in taking a large swig of his drink. As , Harper continued to stare off into the distance at the photograph.
"Just have to ruin the fun. Should have just given it to you straight but no. thought I would get fancy."Finnegan grumbles to himself taking another sip of the drink looking up at Harper who was not paying any attention to his tantrum what so ever.
"Clancy!" Finnegan shouts as Harper blinks a few times taking a sip of her drink wincing at the taste.
Clearly too strong for her taste buds but she was not going to tell Finnegan that. He already got a kick out of her pure ways often enough. Sitting down on the sofa across from him assuming that was why he was getting her attention.
"Why Lilibeth?" Harper questions as Finnegan glances in the direction of her eye line noticing straight away what she was staring at. Sighing in annoyance Finnegan knew he wasn't going to get away from this one.
"She saw me for me. Regardless of all this dark shite. Showed me the love my father never promised. Then obviously I fucked it up because of said father curse thing. God knows what he has done to me. Hence why you need to be careful." Finnegan mutters quickly sipping his drink to shut himself up as Harper frowns at him.
"Our relationship is nothing like yours. It seems like the most epic and beautifully tragic love story. Any girl would die to have. No pun intended of course. Sorry ... " Harper mumbles much like Finnegan downs the contents of her cup to shut herself up.
"Oh look at that both our cups are empty I shall get us a refill." Finnegan states quickly rising from his seat practically prising the cup from Harper's hands.
Before Harper could even stop him he had headed inside into the kitchen pouring himself and Harper another large glass. While also pouring himself another glass into his mouth. Luckily Harper could not see him doing so but it was much needed , savouring the taste of the bitter liquid as it ran down his throat. Slamming the bottle down on the counter he gripped the edge with his other hand. His jaw clenched tightly shut it would probably take the jaws of life to open it.
"Miss Clancy you really do know how to push my buttons." Finnegan mutters to himself running his hand through his hair.
Picking up both the glasses he caught sight of himself in the mirror he had up in his hallway. Handing her back her glass quickly taking a seat where he had been Harper's gazed fixed on her lap as she span the umbrella round the glass trying to focus on that and not him.
"If it was something I said Finn. I'm sorry. I just Its ... these memories of hers I can't ..." Harper mumbles mostly to herself glancing up at him as he two was playing with his glass. Instead of the umbrella he used his middle finger tracing the rim of the glass. Occasionally making a high pitched screech sound due to the friction.
"Its fine. just be careful ok." Finnegan states swigging back almost half the glass as Harper took a sip of hers before going back to playing with the umbrella.
"I know. I know. I'm not silly I know what idiotic danger I have put myself in due to my stupid pure nature trying to help you." Harper recalls a mash up of many things Finnegan had said to her over the last few weeks.
Still her gaze firmly on her lap and the glass as if she had been programmed to look nowhere else. Not even a glance was made in Finnegan's way through the thinner strands of her hair that had fallen. Creating a thin curtain guarding her eyes from his which was what she needed right now or she would probably burst into tears and that would not be pretty.
"You don't know how much you have actually helped me." Finnegan mumbles to himself as he took another sip of his drink finishing it. As he slammed it against the coffee table in front of the two of them.
