I love Ash. I don't care what most people say. I know compared to other protagonists like Red, Ash is "lacking" as a "Pokémon Master". However, Ash is character I enjoy to watch in the anime. Sure, his personality changes throughout the series a bit, but he always has such a determined spirit. I always enjoyed that because it made me feel emotions for Ash and the situations before him. Be happy when he wins and be sad when he loses a league. And also die of laughter when he roasted Misty or someone else in the original series.
To be honest, Ash was one of my first anime crushes as a kid. He is just adorable and always trying his best to complete his dream. Ketchum is not exactly my favorite character but he's a pretty cool kid.
And one last thing... They need to fix his age man. He's ten in every series? C'mon now. I mean his mentality is ten sometimes lol, but his age doesn't have to stay the same as well. Besides that, he's still an interesting character to watch.
