So once upon a time I was browsing through Instagram and I came across an artist. You should check her out. Her IG is nettochuu. (She's really talented.) So she has created quite a lot of Pokémon fanart, and I happen to see one or two about these two. Now I actually do ship them, even though it's a very rare ship. I don't even know if it is a ship. Yeah, I ship their anime alternatives too, but I know not many others do lol—if not at all.
I think Blue and Iris would make an interesting concept. For one, they both have strong, upfront personalities. They'd probably be great friends of they met. Probably not in the beginning, but they'd definitely grow to like each other. I can imagine a few small arguments between the pair, but probably nothing too major. Iris may be stubborn, but I doubt Blue's the type of person to keep an argument going. I also imagine them bonding over their similarities, such as being Pokémon champions. And of course, the countless teasing from Iris to Blue for the short amount of time he had as Pokémon a Champion. But anyways, what do you think? It's a really rarepair that I personally think would be cute.
