Making my way downtown ~~ walking fast ~~ faces pass ~~ and I'm homebound~~. Masayang sinasabayan ni El ang kanta sa radyo, tinatap pa ang daliri sa manibela. Staring blankly ahead ~~ just making my way ~~ making my way ~~through the crowd ~~. Eyes still focused on the road, she groped for her phone inside her purse.

Boo! Magkahalong gulat at asar na sabi ni Ella. Sobrang nadala sya sa kanya kaya naman hindi na nya namalayan na nasagot na pala ang tawag nya. Kainis ka! Kanina ka pa nakikinig?

Ay naku naman! Naaasar na sambit nya nang hindi pa rin tumitigil si Jairus sa pagtawa.

Well, papunta na ako ngayon dyan. Hindi natin natapos yung pag-uusap natin the other day. You passed out on me. Tapos kahapon you were so busy hindi na kita inistorbo. Busy ka ba ngayon? I figured we could talk a little bit first before heading to the airport.

Airport? Kahit hindi nakikita ni Ella , alam nyang nakakunot ngayon ang noo nito.

Boo. I'm sorry nakalimutan ko. Napa-oo na ako  ng appointment dun sa gagawa ng suits namin for the wedding.

Though a bit disappointed, inisip nalang nyang para iyon sa kasal. Ah, okay. Sige, I can fetch Andy by myself. Anong oras ka ba matatapos dun? We could meet up and have an early dinner. The three of us.

I'm not sure. But the dinner sounds fine. Wait, did you just say you're picking him up by yourself?! You're driving?! He asked incredulously.

She could picture him worrying, pacing back and forth in his office. I have a liscense Boo. She said as if that settled everything.

Yeah, an expired liscense. Delikado yan Boo. And whose car are you driving? Nagpahatid ka nalang sana kay Mang Nino.

Napasimangot si Ella. You sound like my dad. For your information, I renewed my liscense the last time I visited with my mom. We stayed for a few months, remember. And I borrowed Tia's old bug. Hindi naman nya ginagamit e.

Inis na bumaba ng kotse si Ella, halos ibalibag na ang pituan ng kotse. Wala ka man lang pakisama! Ayan na o! Konti nalang! Ngayon ka pa tumirik ! Mabuti nalang at nagawa nya pang itabi ang sasakyan, kung hindi ay baka sya pa ang dahilan ng pagbigat ng daloy ng trapiko. Sa inis, pinagsisisipa nya ang gulong ng kotseng kuba na hiniram nya sa kaibigan. Tumingin sya sa relos. Fifteen minutes bago lumapag ang eroplano ni Andy. She needs to find a cab. One...three...five cabs already passed, pero lahat yun ay puno. She kicked the bug's tires one last time before fishing out her phone.
