Hermione Granger
Five years ago"Dray wait up, these heels are fuckin tits," I whine and reach out for my best friend. Draco grabs my hand and pulls me over to the park bench. The cool night breeze blasts past us, causing shocks flying through my veins. My tiny black dress doesn't cover much at all. It has a low V neckline and barely reaches mid thigh.
I love and hate these dresses at the same time. I feel somewhat insecure in these outfits but I also feel powerful. I get a lot of attention when I'm dressed up like this and it's kind of exhilarating.
Draco sits down on the park bench and begins to untie his shoes.
"What are you doing," I ask and watch him kick off both of the black shiny shoes.
"Take my shoes, I don't want you to be uncomfortable," Draco answers and starts to unstrap my heels.
"What are you going to wear though, I'm fine really, keep your shoes, Dray."
Draco ignores me and removes my heels, "I don't need shoes, now go ahead, they don't stink."
I laugh a bit and slip on both of his shoes, making me four inches shorter, "thank you," I say quietly.
"No problem princess," Draco wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me closer to him. His hand rests on my hip, playing with the loose black fabric, "are you staying at my house tonight?"
"Of course."
Current Day
The old memory of mint and apples linger around me while I grab out an old sweatshirt that I have. The heating has shut down in buildings A and C, meaning my building and Harry's building.
I pull the sweatshirt over my head and remove my hair from inside of it. The sweatshirt is much too big for me but it's my favorite one. A lot of memories follow it, times I wish I could go back to, not to change anything but to feel a few things twice.
I roll back onto my stomach and unpause my favorite show, Love Island. I'm only on season one but I'm already in love with the show. My favorite girl on the Island is Jess just because she has such an "I don't give a fuck" personality but in all reality, she gives many fucks about many things.
Minutes and hours pass by without me realizing it and next thing I know it's 7 pm in the afternoon and dinner is being served in our building. I remove myself from my bed and pull on a pair of leggings. I ride the elevator down to the first floor and walk towards the kitchen. Our dorms are super nice, each building has its own cafeteria and each dorm has its own individual bathroom.
I met Ginny in the cafeteria and we go through the lines together. It's Friday so that means their serving Fettuccine Alfredo in the pasta/ Italian section. Ginny and I both get Alfredo and then we go our separate ways to get food. I get two chicken legs and some fruit from the fruit bar. We meet each other at our regular spot in the back of the cafeteria to eat and catch up on the latest.
"So," Ginny says before even sitting down, "according to Blair who heard it from Georgia who heard it from Kyle G. who heard it from Blaise Zabini," Ginny takes a drink of her vitamin water and leans back in the booth. Her eyes have a sort of sparkle to them, telling me it's something juicy that she heard, "Astoria Greengrass is pregnant with Theo Nott's baby."
I snort and shake my head, "no way, that's a totally bullshit rumor. Astoria would never hook up with Theo Nott, he's two years younger than us and we all know she goes for the older guys, especially those who have already made a name for themselves," I shove a bite into my mouth and listen to what Ginny has to say next.
"But listen to this," she starts and pauses for a dramatic effect, "apparently Astoria and Theo have been hanging around each other this past month and we're seen making out in the library and then arguing later that day while Astoria was holding her stomach," Ginny adds. I nod and purse my lips, still not completely sure if this is a bullshit rumor or not. Astoria has been pregnant multiple times before but she's always terminated the pregnancy so I would only be surprised if she was keeping the baby.
"That could be just a coincidence though," I shrug and begin to eat some fruit. Ginny shrugs and also begins to eat her food that she hasn't touched yet, "I guess it could possibly be true since Blaise was the source and Blaise, Theo and Astoria are insanely close. But at the same time, Blaise has been drunk out of his mind 99% of the time this past month."
"You're not wrong there," I hear a voice behind me say. I jump and little and whip around in the booth to see a blond man standing in front of me, "nice sweatshirt love."
I gulp and look down at the sweatshirt I'm wearing and then back up at the one and only Draco Malfoy, my ex best friend.
"Do you want it back?" I ask nervously and fiddle with the hem of the sweatshirt.
"No, you look 20 times better in it than I ever did," Draco answers me and winks before walking away from the booth. I take a quick breath and blow it out. We haven't talked for two years, I've seen him in some of my classes but talking to him again makes me nervous.
"Well that was awkward," Ginny giggles and drinks more of her vitamin water.
"He makes me nervous," I groan and slam my palm to my forehead. I was never nervous with him before, he was always the one person who I could go to whenever and talk to about anything. From boys to periods and then from cooking to football. I was always so collected and myself with him but not anymore, we're both so different now.
He's that one guy who throws all the best parties and will sleep with whatever girl he thinks is fit. You never know what he's going to do next, he's unpredictable. I, on the other hand, am the complete opposite. I'm predictable and quiet, everyone knows that. I've only gone to one party since UNI and that was because Ginny's brother threw a party for her birthday.
"Hermione crushinnnnnn," I hear Ginny coo in front of me, she shovels another bite of Alfredo into her mouth and squirms in her seat.
"I do not! I just, ugh, we used to be so close and now it's like I never knew him."
"Then get to know him again if it bugs you so much."
