The opening ceremony was beginning and Rhydian and I were admiring ourselves in the mirrors. The K's had dressed us in long evening wear. Mine was a dark green and Rhydian was dressed in a black suit. He did look flawless!

I was admiring myself when I noticed a boy looking over at us. He was golden, golden hair and golden eyes. Even his skin was a deep tan. However his eyes were cold and were scrutinising us and seeing what kind of people we were. I don't think he gathered much before we were bustled through the door.

"Maddy, lets go." said Rhydian. I was so nervous, all those people looking at me! What if I didn't look right? This was probably one of the most important moments in the games and I'm going to screw it up!

We were escorted out of the square and into our carriage. Laurel wreathes adorned our carriage to give it a more floral approach. The K's gave us instructions on how to act and where to look. "Hold my hand" said Rhydian, " I might freeze in front of everyone!"
"No you won't!" I said encouragingly. "Once you see everyone, you will be at ease. Just smile and be yourself."
"Thanks Maddy". He leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. I have never seen him this nervous. Not even when he was reaped this morning. (I volunteered as female tribute. No way was I letting him have all the fun)

The carriage was pulled by bay horses. Their tails swishing in time with each other. The carriage entered the circle and we stared out in wonder at all the adoring faces. Everyone yelled "RHYDIAN!!"
"MADDY!"
I could not believe it. People were actually smiling and looking appreciative. No one (except Rhydian) had ever thought I looked attractive before. But here, I was fabulous! Someone even threw a rose, which I caught and held onto. Rhydian squeezed my hand, all the anxiety gone. He looked so happy and quite at home as everyone, especially the girls, loved him.

Our carriage pulled up in front of the Fandom Building and the President looked out over the balcony. Joanne Rowling, in her pinstripe suit glared at me. Her cold eyes piercing and her mouth set in a firm line. Suddenly the corners of her mouth turned up into a smirk.

I know what she's thinking. She expects me to die, but I can tell you lady that I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

J.Rowling will meet her match. Welcome to the world of wolfbloods Mrs President!
