Something Different (2)

Chapter Two:

Rei's P.O.V:

I woke up to the usual 'get out of bed' speech from my brother, but there was something different today. He made me food, but not just any food. But waffles. And oh my god I love waffles.

I looked at him and looked back at those waffles. 'Is my mind playing a trick on me or are those really waffles?' I asked myself.

"Well aren't you gonna eat? I woke you early so you could eat. Rei I will eat them if you won't." Jiho told me and I sprinted to the waffles and started eating.

'Oh my god these are really waffles. Oh my god this is real life.' I thought.

"How is it Rei?" Jiho asked me. I looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and sighed in relief.

"They are heaven. I miss the taste of waffles oh my god thank you so much I love you so much." I told him as I finished eating. I gave him a hug and he hugged me back.

"I'm happy you're happy Rei. You know I always love you." He told me. I stayed in his embrace for a while. And he pulled away. He smiled at me as I didn't let go of him.

"Okay Rei come on. you better get to the stop before the bus comes." He said.

"No. Tell me why you were so late last night first."

"Rei come one just--"

"No tell me." I told him. He look defeated.

"I was at an extra job okay don't worry about it. It's what helped us get those waffles." He said and quickly changed the subject.

"Okay go go go. School school school." He threw me the keys and started pushing me out the door.

"Okay okay! I'm going! I'm going!" I stopped him from pushing me out any further.

"Be safe Rei. I love you." I smiled.

"I love you too Jiho."

And I was out the door.

Jiho's P.O.V :

I always tell her to stay safe being the big brother I am. Sure she's old enough to take care of herself now, but inside she's still a fragile little child I took care of several years back. She doesn't know how to fight, and I'm always afraid that one day she might leave me just like our father did. That's why I always tell her I love her.

Let me properly introduce myself.

I'm Woo Ji Ho, or you'd probably know me as ZICO or Nauseco. Either one of those, it's me. I'm an underground rapper, but I study art. I know weird mix. Don't question it. I've been the one watching Rei, Taking care of her, helping her ever since our father went missing.

It was a depressing month for her when he was gone. She waited everyday by the window at our old home in Daegu, hoping that one day he would come back with open arms and more hugs and kisses. She kept waiting, when I gave up. The government decided to relocate us just incase he would come back. Which meant a whole change to our lives and everything. Rei and I adapted to our new, small home here in Busan and we're fine. The house itself is paid for by the government. Rei and I have our own rooms and an extra room provided by the house.

It was easy for me to adapt, because I'm use to going to new places, like when I studied in America, but then I had to come home because my dad called an emergency, and five days after, mom died. I was never worried about myself, but more for my little sister. And all I could do was stay strong for her.

Would I ever result into getting to the business my dad was in? Never. That's one thing I'll always stand by. I can never become like my father. No matter how much money it can bring me. Never. Rei is traumatized by how he never came back. She seems like she's over it but she still asks me if he'll ever come back. Poor thing.

I get out of my thoughts as I hear a knock on the door. I jump off the couch and open the door to see my two good friends. Park Kyung and Lee Minhyuk. Also known as Kyung and B-Bomb.

"What's happening guys?" I open the door and they come in and get comfortable. They've been here several times, it's like their second home. And they'll always be welcome.

"Not much. But we saw your sister and we said hi." Kyung told me.

"That's nice." I told him.

"No it wasn't." B-Bomb said. "He went behind her back and covered her eyes and said 'Rei you're coming with me'. She started getting scared and I feel like she almost cried." B-Bomb said as Kyung punched him on the arm.

"What the hell was that for?!" B-Bomb yelled out.

"For telling him what really happened what the fuck Minhyuk seriously?!" Kyung yelled back

"Kyung you're a mean asshole, we get it." I told him as B-Bomb laughed and grabbed a banana milk out of the fridge.

"No B-Bomb. Put it back." I told him.

"It's just banana milk. Chill the fuck out man." He told me.

"No B-Bomb. It's Rei's banana milk. Now put it down. I still have to get her another one for the one you drank yesterday." I told him.

"I'll just buy a whole pack for you guys. Geez let me drink." He grabbed it out of my hand and I hit him.

"Shit. You guys. Look here." Kyung said as we both stopped fighting. We ran quickly to the tv to read the words 'Gang Fights In Busan. Two Dead, Three Injured.'

"Fuck. That's not just a fight, that's a damn war." B-Bomb said

"And to think Busan was really safe too." I told him and Kyung laughed.

"Remember when you said being in a gang was cool then you got a black eye from one of the fight and then you--" Kyung said as I went over to him and grabbed him by the neck.

"Why would you ever dare mention that?!" I asked him.

"Shit man calm the fuck down. He was kidding." B-Bomb held me back.

"Don't ever fucking mention that again Park Kyung or I swear before you know it, you will be dead." I told him.

"You still got that gangster in you ZICO." Kyung told me.

"Shut up." I told him as I changed the channel from the lady talking about the fight.

I just really hope Rei is safe.

Rei's P.O.V:

I'm so relieved that work is finally over, and I can finally go home. It's been such a long day. I just want to go home and take a nap.

The subways stopped and I get off immediately. I go on my usual route home when I noticed something in one of the alleys. I stopped walking and just froze. There was a noise of moaning, and groaning. I got even more scared. The house was literally like five more minutes away but I couldn't move. I was paralyzed by fear. Then I heard it. The sound of coughing, and that long hard gasp for air. I went straight into the dark alley and almost collapsed at what I saw.
