|17| Welcoming Anushka Home.

Anushka was discharged from the hospital after two days. Giya and Anshul alongwith Hridaan and Siddharth, together went to bring her back from the hospital. Anushka was initially happy when she saw all her friends and her brother come to take her back. However, her happiness turned into sadness the moment she saw that Virat didn't come. When Anushka enquired about why he didn't come, Anshul said that he couldn't come because there was some urgent work in his office which he had to attend. Actually, Anshul lied when he said that Virat had some urgent work. Virat didn't have any urgent official work. Instead, he was busy in planning Anushka's homecoming party. All of them wanted to surprise her.

Virat was busy in baking a cake for Anushka when he heard his phone ring. He didn't waste any time and immediately recieved the call while putting it on speaker mode.

"Vir are you done with the decorations?" Anshul enquired from the other side.

"Yes. I am done with the decorations. I am baking the cake now." Virat told.

"When will you people be reaching here?" Virat asked.

"In one hour or so." Anshul answered.

Virat disconnected the call after that. He had one hour in his hand to wrap up all the preparations. The cake is almost ready. Only the icing needs to be done now. He also ordered a few pizzas of Anushka's choice alongwith six bottles of coke from the nearest pizza place.

While he was busy doing the icing, he  thought about Anushka. Finally, his Anushka is out from that awful place. He promised himself that he will never let anything to happen to her after that accident. He will protect her at all costs.

Virat also knew that Anushka might be super-pissed with him for he didn't go to bring her back. However, he hoped that after seeing his surprise, she will forgive him.

It took Virat almost fifteen minutes to do the icing. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't bad either. Once he was done, he went to get freshened up because he was literally sweating after doing all the work. As Virat didn't bring any clothes alongwith him, he decided to wear a t-shirt and Bermudas of Anshul's. He chose a grey t-shirt shirt and a pair of black Bermudas. He quickly took a shower and got dressed in the attire he had chosen. He then gelled up his hair and combed it. He also grabbed a bottle of deodorant which belonged to Anshul and sprayed it on his body. He was putting all the effort to impresss Anushka. He wanted her to like her the way he does. What he failed to realise was that Anushka already liked him for who he was in real. He didn't need to put so much of effort to make her to like him.

More than an hour had passed but there was no sign of Anushka or any of their friends yet. His patience had started ticking off slowly. He glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was 6pm. He wasn't able to understand what was taking them so long. Getting irritated, he took out his phone and was about to call Anshul when he heard the doorbell ring. His heartbeats quickened when he thought that his Anushka might be there on the other side of the door. However, even in his state of excitement, he didn't forget to switch off the lights of the hall before going to open the door. He wanted to Anushka to be surprised when she will see all the arrangements that he had made.

Virat opened the door and had almost said "Sur-" but stopped  in the midway before uttering the whole word when he saw that only Anshul, Giya, Hridaan and Siddharth were standing on the threshold. Anushka wasn't there with them.

"Where's Anushka guys? Did you forget that you people went to bring Anushka back?" Virat half-yelled at his friends. All he wanted to at that moment was to meet Anushka but, God was testing his patience.

Everyone had an amusing look on their face as they saw Virat being so restless. Anshul on the other hand, smirked seeing his best friend's condition. He thought of teasing him a bit more.
