Chika's POV:
"Get in here" I heard a man order from inside the room. My eyes widened as I looked past my older sister, Ai, to the door and back to her. Ai didn't speak and only pointed at the room for me to go into. Did she... get me the job? I forced myself to walk into the room where the male voice came from to see a man with whitish spiky up hair sitting behind a desk. He looked so mysterious and intimidating. He had some sort of mask on that covered most of his face apart from one eye that stared at me. He had a passive face which observed me as I stood at the door. Is this Kakashi, the man who is in charge of the maids in this palace? He didn't look like a friendly guy. I wanted to wet myself from fear as he approached me and stood right in front of me. I leaned back as far as I could so that he wouldn't be that close to me.
"You are only getting this job because of what an excellent maid your sister, Ai, is" he told me in a cold voice. What? So... I'm hired? I was so frightened I couldn't speak. He looked like he was getting angrier since I wasn't responding. It felt like he was going to hit me or something. But instead he whirled around to walk back over to his desk. I heard him take out something and place it on his desk. My eyes went wide when I realised that it was the maid uniform. So he is giving me the job? He held it up for me to take. "You will wear this outfit while you work here. You will be stationed on the second floor and you will work alongside Sakura. You will follow every order she gives you and if you fail to do your job properly, I will have no problem in firing you. Is everything so far clear?" Kakashi asked me in a strict voice. I nodded quickly and held the uniform to my chest for comfort.
He then walked up to me and grabbed my arm startling me. "I will lead you to the maid's changing room and you will get into your uniform there" he told me and then started to drag me out of his room. Ai stood in the hall looking slightly apprehensive at us. "Ai, get back to work" Kakashi ordered her and she bowed her head quickly and scurried off. Then he pulled me to the stairs and started to descend two flights. We were down in the basement. He shoved me towards a door and pointed at it. "That is the maid's changing area and that" Kakashi said pointing at a door beside it "is your bathroom. You will not under any circumstances us the bathrooms in any of the bedrooms on your floor. Is that clear?" Kakashi asked me and I nodded quickly.
"Good. Get changed" he ordered me and I quickly went into the maid's room. It was absolutely tiny. Were all the maids supposed to fit in here at one time? I quickly changed and had to leave my folded up clothes in a closet in the room. I saw other folded up clothes in there so I assume that I should be placing mine in there too. I came out and Kakashi grabbed my arm again and started leading me up the stairs. We got to the second floor and the butterflies started to kick in. He reached what looked like a pantry and he pushed open the door to reveal a pink haired young girl washing cutlery in the sink. "Sakura" Kakashi called making her turn around. She looked as if she had been smiling but it faltered when she saw him.
In all honestly, I had no interest in working here at all. But I need the job. I need to help support my family at home. All my other sisters are a lot older than me and have married off and have to support their own families. So it's up to me to try and support my brother at home. My parents have died so I'm all my younger brother has got. My other sisters have offered to help me out but my brother has a intellectual disability and only wants me around. He calls me 'Mama' because I have been the closest person to him. I'm only a year older than him. I am seventeen making him sixteen. Ai is twenty six and the only sister apart from to me to be unmarried. That is why she is still working here. My other sisters left this place once they had a man to be able to support them. Working here is not fun apparently. Some of the maids here are not meant to be nice at all.
"Am, Kakashi Sir, is there a problem?" the Sakura girl asked quietly looking slightly nervous. Her eyes flashed to me and then back to him. Kakashi paused but then shoved me at her.
