Itachi's POV:
Isn't it obvious? I just smirked at Chika's naivety. She was just so clueless it was appealing.
"Tell me what you are confused about?" I asked her slyly. I smirked wider as she visibly became more uncomfortable.
"A-am... well... dinner" she said quietly looking off to the side. I chuckled at her awkwardness.
"Hmm, dinner confuses you?" I teased and she looked up at me blushing.
"N-no... It's just... w-why are y-you treating me?" she asked nervously. I could tell by the movement of her arms that she was wringing her hands under the table. This was all just terribly amusing.
"Why? Because I want to" I said plainly making her look ten times more confused. I chuckled again and looked down at the table. "Chika, I do apologise for scaring you yesterday" I said looking back up at her. She looked stiff. She knows what I'm talking about but I wonder is she stiff because of the memory of me jumping in the water with her or the... kiss?
"O-oh! T-that? N-no. It's ok" she said blushing looking down at the table. I leaned forward on my elbows on the table looking directly at her.
"Chika, I am only apologising for one part" I explained making her eyes widen at the table. I smirked. She knows what I mean. I am not apologising for the kiss. Just then the waiter came over with our food and placed it in front of us. "Thank you" I said to the waiter so he could leave us in peace. She didn't say another word as she started to eat. I smirked as I watched her, but I myself started to eat too. I couldn't take my eyes off her. What is it about her that is so... attractive? Is it the way she acts so innocent and... endearing? I don't know how she does it and she clearly isn't trying. It's just natural and I love it. When we neared finishing our meal, she gently placed her knife and fork down.
"C-Crown Prince Itachi?" she called quietly to gain my attention. But she had no idea that my attention was on her the whole time.
I nodded saying a polite "Yes?" I was... excited to see what she wanted to say.
"Am... I want to say... thank you... f-for... saving me..." she said blushing darkly. I frowned at that. What is she referring to?
"Saving you from what?" I asked her and she reluctantly looked up at me.
"From... Hachiro" she told me quietly. I tensed at the memory of that man... touching her. I took in a deep breath trying to calm myself. I looked down at the table and nodded. "And for the dinner" she added making me look back up at her.
"My pleasure" I said watching as she blushed embarrassed and looked back down. I tightened my fist as I resisted the urge to go over to her and kiss her. I so badly wanted to. She was just so enchanting. I forced myself to finish my meal. When I finished I got up and paid for our meals. I led her back into the carriage and she sat across from me again. I would much rather she sat beside me. But at least it was easier to gaze at her. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees as I looked at her. "Chika" I called so she would look me in the eyes. They were such a bright beautiful colour. I could barely control myself to not get up and go over to kiss her. "Chika... I don't want you to fear me" I said seriously to her. She took in a deep breath from the intensity of my stare. She nodded smiling weakly at me. That's it. I couldn't help it. I stood up and took a step towards her where I stood right in front of her. I bent down to her and took her hand in mine. Her eyes were wide as I raised her hand up to press my lips against the back side of her hand.
Chika's POV:
"Chika... you are so beautiful" he said in a low tone and volume as he locked eyes with mine. I couldn't breathe. Did Itachi just... compliment me... romantically? I was frozen. I didn't know what to say or do. I was locked in his gaze. All I could do was stare back looking shocked.
