The Guild was abuzz with excitement as Kira and Twigs approached. Another routine job all taken care of. However, the state of the guild on this afternoon was anything but normal. The atmosphere was tense but absurdly positive.

With a glance at one another, Twigs and Kira walked into the guild. They headed upstairs to report their success to Gardevoir.

Twigs knocked on the door to Gardevoir's office. "Guild-Master? Team Forest-Fire reporting."

The door was immediately opened. Kira and Twigs were greeted to a strange sight as Gardevoir pored over a map beside a Lucario and a Gallade. A Blaziken was talking to Kin and Soul. Evie had opened the door. She smiled at them and gestured for them to come inside.

They hesitated a second before entering. Evie closed the door gently behind them. Kin noticed their entry and nodded in their direction. Turning around, Blaziken took notice of them.

'Ugh Blaziken. They're so arrogant and obnoxious,' thought Kira. She glared at the Blaziken as it approached. Torchic's evolved form towered over them. Blaziken's face was grim as it intently studied Kira.

Blaziken knelt down and looked Kira in the eye. Ember's face broke into a smile as her jaw quivered. She pulled the Torchic off the ground into a tight hug. Kira was caught off-guard and it didn't help that she's not a fan of hugs.

"Oi mate! Let me go! Put me down or I'll smash ya!"

Ember laughed and Kira became aware of tears streaming from the Blaziken's eyes. Kira stopped fighting as she was gently placed on the ground.

When Blaziken spoke, her voice was feminine and motherly. "You may not remember me, but I could never forget my beautiful baby girl. I've missed you, my daughter."

Kira was dumbstruck; she couldn't think. She barely noticed the approaching Lucario. He knelt beside Blaziken and placed his palm against Kira's forehead. He closed his eyes and his paw glowed. Azure showed Kira the love of a father and the young Torchic collapsed into her parent's loving arms.

"Mum! Dad!" Kira wailed.

Kin laughed and joined the hug. "Let me in on this action!" He playfully punched Kira in the side. "Good to see ya little sis!"

"Actually Kin, Kira's older," their mother said.

After a moment longer, the hug broke. Kira was crying. "I have no idea what just happened!" She sobbed.

Kin laughed and stepped back. "Mum, Dad, I'll leave you to explain. There's something I need to do so I'll be at Spinda's café if you need me."

Delis turned at the mention of food. "Well perhaps we'll join you for dinner once we're done here. We can eat, reunite, reminisce, and do hero stuff. Like discuss how we're going to save the world, because that is on the to-do list. It may not be as high priority as eating, but it's up there!"

"Agreed. We'll meet later at Spinda's café for food and hero stuff," laughed Azure.

Kin nodded happily. He slung a bag over his shoulder and walked from the room. As he did so, he gestured to Evie and she followed him out the door.

The walk to Spinda's café was a short one. Evie was nervously silent while Kin whistled happily. When they entered the café, Kin led the way through the maze of tables to a staircase at the back of the room. They went upwards and found themselves on the roof.

The afternoon sun danced over Mistveil city; paving the streets with its golden rays. Kin walked to the edge of the roof and leant on the low wall that served as a railing. Standing on her hind paws Evie joined him. He stopped whistling, laughed, and shook his head.
