You smiled at the warm brown boy next to you when he mentioned the fond memory of the two of you, sneaking out when you were in 6th grade to go ghost hunting, only for you to come home crying when he jokingly scared the shit out of you.
"You were so innocent back then" He laughed as he gripped the wheel of his car, pulling into your street.
"Yeah, I was the cutest" you joked, putting your books into your bag as you got closer to your house.
"Mmhmm" he mumbled sarcastically before stopping the car in front of my house. You sighed turning to him with a small smile on my face.
"Thanks Jake, it was good to see you actually yourself without those boys around" you muttered your honest opinion, he nodded, a slight smile on his face.
You put your bag over your shoulder, leaning in to give him a quick hug lol,e you usually would, until he stared at you for much longer than you would like.
You stopped midway before giving him a look of show you were uncomfortable. He laughed quietly before staring at you softly, a smirk appearing on his lips.
"I make you nervous" he smirked to himself, taking you back a few notches. You blinked three times before shaking your head, trying to deny the blood that was rushing to the surface of your cheeks.
"Get over yourself Jacob, I was eleven okay? I'm 17 now" you tightened the strap that was over your shoulder.
"I was joking" he laughed pulling you in for a hug, before slyly sneaking in a kiss on your cheek. You rolled your eyes, pushing his face away.
"Love you" Jake smiled when you opened the door and exited the car. You shut the door and he wound the window down.
"Love you too Jake" you tried not to laugh because of the awkwardness in the air.
"I know" he mumbled before driving off. Leaving you to ponder on if your feelings ever left as you grew older.
