I heave out a long sad sigh as I slowly drag my feet toward the front door of my house. My mom isn't home a lot since her job requires her to work long hours, so I often allow myself to enjoy the quiet at home.

I just don't understand how Edward can keep doing things the way we are doing them. Most of the Cullens also want me to become one of them, but Edward just can't seem to find any good thing about it.

While I'm human, I'm only getting older and soon enough he won't want me anymore. I'll also be able to protect myself, I won't need for his whole family to go out of their way to protect me, because I'd be able to do it myself. But still...in his eyes, he's all the protection I need.

*Flashback*
"Why? Why is it so bad that I want to become one of you?" I snap due to his stubbornness. He huffs out an exhausted sigh before turning to me with that dangerous glare of his.

"Because you don't need to become one of us! Not yet." His voice raises slowly.
"Lorelai, you have the chance to enjoy life! You can be alive and enjoy those feelings that humans feel!" He yells, licking his lips before he inhales , preparing to say a few more words.

"I've explained to you so many times and you still don't get it! You just have to trust me, and believe that this is what is best for you" He grips the roots of his hair, exhaling once more.

"I just want to be more beautiful to you, I want to be like you and understand you" I plead with my eyes as his turn to to the floor.

I take steps closer to him, putting my arms around his neck and kissing him. I pull back and smile.
"Don't you want that too?"

His eyes turns away from mine as he shakes his head.
"You are already beautiful to me. Which is why I'm not letting you change anytime soon"
*Flashback over*

I continue to feel sorry for myself, walking down the seemingly endless hallways of my house. My fingers tracing over the smooth paint that covers the walls. The more and more I think about it, the more I understand why Edward doesn't want me to change just yet.

But still my mind finds a way to stay mad at the thoughtful man that I am extremely in love with.

I walk past the door that has "Lorelai" written on it in cursive and continue down the hall. I stop just in front of the familiar doorway, the one that my mother often bought me to when I was sad or angry during my younger days. The room with the piano.

I smile softly at it, remembering how every time I left this room I was never angry anymore. I approach the old piano that has been abandoned since the day my father left and my mom become busy with work.

I sit down in front of the piano, closing my eyes and allowing my shoulders to relax as my fingertips begin to dance upon the black and white keys.

The familiar song ringing through my ears, the one that my mother played every single time she touched a piano.

As I played the piece, I found myself drowning in negative thoughts about my father and how he left my mother.

3rd Person

Her eyebrows furrow upwards as she tries to hold back the sadness that was threatening to engulf her. Her fingers proceed to caress the piano while her boyfriend quietly enters the house and follows the sound of the piano that echoes through the long halls.

Instantly he could her thoughts, drowning in the sadness of her past. He approaches the room and slips through the half open door. Contemplating whether or not he should make her aware of his presence.

He walks slowly to her side and leans over her as she plays. Her fingers not daring to stop playing, she gives him a side-look before shutting her eyes again. Creases form on her forehead as she holds back the urge to forgive him so easily.

He sits down next to her and joins in, placing his fingers on the keys. She pauses and waits for him to finish his part before she starts playing again.

Lorelai's perspective

Though I tried to make it clear that I was enjoying the piano to myself, he starts playing the keys again, cutting through my keys. I turn to face slightly away from Edward as he begins to play harder, as if he was trying to prove to me that he was just as good if not better at playing.

Though I'm not surprised seeing as playing the piano is a great passion for the both of us. I'd have to admit Edward is probably better than I am due to the amount of time he has had to practice, but still I don't let that hold me back.

I huff as I start to play again, challenging him. Trying my hardest to out-do Edward's skills, I can't help but find myself smiling as the both of us are playing very passionately against each other. I sense a smile from him as he begins to slow down his pace and we both slowly bring the piece to an end.

I look at his hand playing next to mine, my fingers dancing their way to his left hand hand and grabbing it softly, stopping him from playing any longer. He turns to me in confusion, I lean forward and place a soft kiss on his lips before pulling back as my hand rests in his.

I let out a soft laugh as a grin plasters on his face.
