"I'm so excited to see youuu!"

I chuckle at my cousin over the phone as my mum smiles at me softly. Kim and I had been extremely close while I lived in the area, my mother had to move due to work but she left that job and now we are back in La Push baby. I'd been homesick for so long and the feeling of being back is just so comforting.

"I miss you too Kim" I smile softly as I hear her mumbling over the phone for a few seconds as my mum continues to bring in the rest of our stuff.

"Hey Kim!" My younger brother shouts as he brings in a box and heads straight up stairs. The warm feeling of being home is something I can definitely get used to again.

"Is that Renny? His voice has really dropped hasn't it" she giggles and I hear a change in her voice.

"Who were you talking to before?" I ask her as she pauses for a few seconds before giggling again.

"Jared" I can almost sense her smile through the phone.

"Jared? Jared Cameron?" I ask, a soft smile forming on my face as memories come flooding back.

I remember a few years back, Kim had the biggest crush on Jared. While I had a huge crush on his friends, my favourite being Paul Lahote. The whole group of boys were little cuties but Paul was breathtaking. Jared ended up asking her out a week before I left.

"So you guys are still together?" I smile as she then begins talking to Jared again but all I hear is muffled voices. It's been 3 years.

"Hey, I'm on my way. Jared wants you to hang out with us" She chimes through the phone as my heart sinks.

"Sorry Kim, I'm still unpacking my stuff" I say turning to my mum who seems to be silently growling me for turning down my cousins offer.

"It's alright y/n, Ren got the last box in. We can do the rest tomorrow" My Mum grins as I try desperately to cover the mic on the phone so that Kim would not hear it.

I hear a little squeal over the phone.
"I love your mom! I'll be over in 5" she says before hanging up. I glare at my mother for throwing me under the bus as she chuckles to herself.

"What? You need to catch up with her!" She jokingly scolds me as my brother smirks at me.

Great. Now I have to worry about my awkward socialising skills. I sprint up the stairs and into the bathroom, fixing myself up quickly before Kim arrives. I brush my hair down behind my ears with my fingers and throw a chewing gum into my mouth.

After a short 10 minutes I hear the front door open.
"RENNNYYYYY!"

I smile softly to myself at my cousins familiar voice and jog down the stairs to see Kim literally suffocating Ren in her arms was they both laugh hysterically.

She gasps and turns to me and throws herself onto me expecting me to stay standing. I struggle to keep balance with her wrapped around me and fall on my butt.

"Be careful, don't want you house broken from you two Oompa Loompas" My father comes out of the kitchen crossing his arms over his chest, a giant smirk on his face.

Kim laughs, helping me up and walking towards my father and wrapping her arms around him. I believe Kim was really close to my father when she was a baby, before I was born.

"are you calling me fat uncle?" She cuddles into his side as my mother rolls her playfully at the two.

"Of course not" he says before giving her a questionable look. She huffs and playfully punches his shoulder. He laughs and let's her go and walks back into the kitchen.

"How's your mum Kim?" My mum asks Kim as she softly nods her head before grinning at me.

"Look after y/n, she hasn't hung around people in a while" my mum smiles as I roll my eyes and make my way to the front door.

"Yeah! And no boys Kim!" My dad yells from the other room. Kim playfully nudges me.

"Of course uncle!" She then winks at me. My mother's eyes widen at Kim's joke as my brother uncomfortably leaves the room.

"Let's go" she then drags me out of the house and into her car. I huff and stare at the weird grin on her face.

"Where are we going?" I question as she starts her engine and begins to reverse out of the driveway.

"To the beach" she smirks.

"Who's going"

"Just us and Jared. We are meeting him there though"

I swallow, remembering the last 2 days here I spent with him and her. They made me want to stay even more. I could tell those two were going to be together a long time.

The ride was short. I was reliving my childhood memories and just allowing myself to take in my surroundings. Finally we arrive to the beach and she pulls into the small parking lot above the beach.

"We're here" she grins mischievously, causing a confused frown to form on my face. I look down on to the beach. I smile as my eyes run up and down the shore, my eyes landing on the familiar brown boy. Jared.

My eyes dart next to him when I notice he's laughing. Only to see Paul Lahote shoving him playfully. I feel my stomach drop and my breath hitches. I glare at Kim and shove her playfully.

"Why would you do that" I pout and sink into my chair.

"Why not bring back some memories?" She smiles as I glare at her.

I inhale deeply, ready to go off on her but she simply unbuckled her seatbelt and runs out of her car. I sit still for a good 30 seconds, contemplating on if I should get out of the car, or start the engine and leave her ass stranded with her boyfriend.

I groan and unbuckle my seatbelt. I open the door and shut it quietly, slowly making my way down to the three on the sand.

"Y/n!" I hear Jared's voice and instantly my anxiety begins to fade. He jogs to me and pulls me in for a hug.

"Hey J" I say awkwardly patting his back and looking to Kim as she laughs, shocked at her boyfriends actions.

He pulls back and observes me.
"You've put on weight" He smirks. I feel my mouth open slightly, offended at his words. I push away the insecurity that is trying to get to me. I know Jared likes to tease. Kim gasps harshly and punches him.

"No I mean- you were so skinny before" he gives me a panicked look and I immediately knew he didn't mean to insult me.

"He's saying you look better now" Paul interrupts.
I turn to Paul who stands behind Jared.

"Well if it isn't Paul Lahote" I smile softly, meeting his eyes and pausing for a few moments. I feel a sudden rush of attraction for Paul and feel a slight pull toward him. I frown at him when he stays frozen for a while, he then blinks his eyes and smirks.

I hear Jared whisper to Kim as Paul comes back to his senses.
"Yeah, that's me" he smirks cockily as I roll my eyes. He hasn't changed one bit...
maybe that's the reason of all these feelings.

"I knew it! I knew it!" Kim squealed quietly to her boyfriend, catching my attention as Jared chuckles softly.

"Knew what?" I question.

"Paul just i-" Kim slams her hand over her mouth when both Paul and Jared give her a seriously dangerous look.

"Sorry" she apologises to Paul and at this point I have no idea what is going on. Jared nods to Paul as he sighs softly and smiles his charming smile at me.

"Wanna go for a walk?" He cooed softly.
