~Seth And Paul Request ~

Paul's POV

I feel my mood take a turn when I see the girl that I thought was so good for me, laughing with my younger pack mate as they play in the sand. She's my best friend, and has been my best friend for years. I acknowledged just a few years ago that I had grown feelings for her.

But this year, when Seth and Leah joined the pack and he got to meet Kaila, he imprinted on her. It was an understatement to say the least, I sense the feelings they have for each other and it hurts me to see her happy with someone other than myself.

I feel my jealousy grow when he leans down to kiss her, I shut my eyes so that I don't have to see any of it.

Kaila's POV

I feel my grin fade, seeing my best friend staring at me from afar. His eyes hold sadness and jealousy behind them, and I knew it was because I'm with Seth.

Paul admitted to me that he liked me a year ago, and for a while I thought I liked him back too. Until I met Seth, instantly we clicked and I fell in love with him in such a short period of time.

I have a strong relationship with Paul, and I love him with all my heart. But I just don't love him the way he wants me to.

"You should go talk to him" Seth says, his eyes showing the guilt he feels for his pack member. I know Seth didn't want to hurt Paul, but he can't help it.

I nod my head and make my way toward my friend.
"Hey Paul" I smile, hugging him for a few seconds before pulling back and grinning at him and pulling him the opposite direction so that I could have a conversation with him in private.

"Paul... I need you to let me go" I purse my lips softly, his eyes turning away from mine.

"I can't" he mutters, shaking his head.

"At least try to then because me and you? We have the best friendship! I don't want that to be ruined" I plead.

"Look at me" I pull his jaw to face me.
"Would you rather keep me as a best friend? Or lose me forever?" I furrow my brows, seeing a strong expression of pain. I don't like doing this to him, but I don't like having to hurt him every time I'm with Seth.

He looks down, not giving me a reply.

"Paul, she will come! I swear to god, you are going to find someone. And she will be so....so so beautiful." I tilt my head as I try to clear things up to him.

"You just have to give it time" I huff, finished with my words. I stay and watch him think for a few seconds. He clutches his eyes close before he huffs, turning back to me.

"Fine"

My brows raise as a smile dances on to both of our lips. He scoffs at my laughter and turns to the beach.

"Thank you" I say softly, interrupting his silence. I walk closer to him and put my arms around his shoulders.

"I love you Paul"

"I love you too" he plants a soft kiss on my hair before bidding me goodbye and running off.
