The Hunt For A Friend

-Luna pov-

I walked up the steps to an abandoned mine that was claimed by mother earth. Though it looked abandoned there is a rogue devil in here that had some info I wanted. I looked in the entrance and sighed walking into it. As the light from the sun dimmed I continued to walk forward. "Hello!" I shout into the mine. I heard movement "Who are you and what do you want?!" A male voice screamed from the darkness. "I heard you had some information I want." I say and the movement continued to get closer.  A male emerged from the darkness one of his arms grotesquely bulging of muscle, and his face completely disfigured. (Imagine a charger from L4D2) "Well aren't you a nice looking harlot." The creature said a lecherous grin on its face. "Not interested in males especially strays. Now I heard you had info about a male I'm searching for." I say putting my hands into my Kimono. "All information has a price little tart." He drooled out and my eye twitched. "Give me the information I want and I'll spare your pathetic, perverted, and useless life!" I yell agitated about how he was looking and talking to me. "You little bitch! I'll teach you to talk to your betters like that!" It yelled throwing a punch at my head, I smiled and simply twirled around him. I put my hand to his back and use gravity shot to launch him into the wall. I summon my naginata and battle dress, spinning Moonlight around, "This is your final warning! Give me the information I want or perish!" I yell and he pushes out from the wall. "I'll kill you!" He yelled rushing again. "Of course. The hard way it is." I sigh out and spin around another punch, I slash his back, ducking under a grab, I slash his stomach twice. "You pest!" He yelled and tried bring his fist down onto me. I smirk as a magic rune appeared in my eye. As his fist came closer an orb of gravity launched him back. He slammed into the wall again, I point Moonlight at him "Yield!" I yell and he roars and rushes again. The blade on Moonlight glows a vibrant green, I swing upward with some power and the raw magic caused the blade to extend and cut off its muscled arm. The man screamed in pain, dropping to his knees grasping where his arm should be. "I told you to yield but you sealed your fate." I say walking towards him. "Attack!" He yelled and a group of 10 cultists ran out and fired magic at me. I put my hand out and use Gravity shot, the magic attack launched back at them and killed them. "Pathetic." I say walking towards the guy, I point the blade of Moonlight to his neck. "Where is Grey?!" I yelled and he flinched. "Who is Grey?" He asked now frightened by me. "The fox from Garrista Village!" I yell at him. He flinched "All I know is there was a Kitsune hunting down strays! That's all I know I swear!" He screamed. I growl and slit his throat "Useless. But there is still hope." I say to myself as I switch back into my Kimono. As I leave I look down at a picture of Grey and I when we were kids. 'I wasn't there for you back then. But I promise when I find you I won't let you down.' I thought walking towards town.

-Grey pov-

I walk into the mines claws at the ready. "Hey meatbag I know your in here!" I yell until I smell blood. I walk till I notice 11 bodies. "10 cultists and the only lead I had." I growled out and sniff the air to pick up a woman's scent. "Heh guess I don't need that info anyway." I say and rush after her.

-Luna pov-

I continued through the forest but something felt off. 'I'm being followed.' I thought as I stop and look around. "H-hello?" I ask a bit timidly and a cloaked man dropped from the trees. "Hello girlie. Are you lost?" He asked and I shook my head. "N-no I'm just headed to the next town." I say and he dropped into a fighting stance. I throw my hand towards him and he flies towards me, I spin and try to kick his stomach only for him to block it. He skids back and grins at me "Nice kick girlie." He said before sending a fireball my way. I dodge switching to my battle form and summon Moonlight. Then Moonlights blade glowed a faint Gray. 'Strange this only happened with Grey. That must mean he did something to him!' I thought before pointing my blade at him. "If it is a fight you want? I will give you a fight!" I yell rushing him. I swing at his stomach only for him to lean back,  plant his hands on the ground, and kick my chin. I staggered back and grab my chin. I look up and glare at him, Moonlight glowed green and I start twirling it around my body sending arcs of magic towards him. He dodges them gracefully but barely and launches towards me. As I swung to put a diagonal slash on his chest, we weaved around and cut my side and we continued to trade blows. After a while we separated and prepared for a final rush. "When I defeat you. You will tell me all you know about Grey." I say and he smirks. We rush at each other and I raise Moonlight to pierce his stomach. Only for him to strafe a little to the left and raised his claw. 'Grey...I guess we'll meet again in the afterlife. I'm sorry.' I thought closing my eyes accepting my death. Except of the cold embrace of death I received a warm hug from the man. "It's been a while...Luna Crescent...my best friend." He said and I looked to see familiar brown eyes and black hair looking down into my eyes. "Grey?" I asked afraid this was a trick. "Yeah it's me Luna." He says and I hug him again "I've been searching everywhere for you! I heard about what happened and I trained to come find you!" I say happily "Sorry to have caused you so much trouble." He laughed out and I smiled.

-Timeskip-

Grey and I were in a small coffee shop drinking some tea. "So you are acting as a mercenary for the devils?" I asked taking a sip of tea. "Yeah and I needed a right hand to help me carry out some missions. So I took no time in thinking of asking you. You are my first and most trusted friend. I went to your house first only for your parents to say you left to find me. Then I searched for you and two weeks later here we are. So I ask you...will you join me?" He asked looking into my eyes with pure determination. I smile as I remember the weak and mistreated Grey. "You sure have changed Foxy. In more ways than one, I'll join you considering I've been searching and training for years to find you." I say and he smiled. "Thank you Luna having you by my side eases me immensely." He says drinking his tea. "So...rumor has it you have a harem growing?" I ask and he chokes on his tea. "They forced me to have one!" He shouted blushing and I laugh at him. "If they hurt you. I'll kill them for sport." She says and he smiles. "Yeah yeah. Well let's go Luna and get you situated back at the base." He says as we walk out of the shop and leave a nice tip for the waitress.

-Chapter end. Thank you again for submitting Luna. Next chapter one of Grey's biggest mystery will be solved. How does he have two goddesses weapons? Will he be able to recover from the truth of what he really is? Or will he delve into a dark depression and let it control him. Will opinions change of him, or will his bonds strengthen.-
