                                                                                            Alessia

"I wanted to talk to you. Tell you everything I know about our parents, everything it says in this book," Elijah said as he tapped a book. The two sat in his room. Alessia sat on his bed while he sat on the floor. Elijah handed her a small brown book. It was obviously old because the fabric was worn out and falling apart. Alessia smiled to herself, thinking it looked like something straight out of one of her favorite movies. She took the book in awe. "This is where the page is from,"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Positive. It feels the same, it's the right size. I'll bring it to you later,"

"Good,"

"Where'd you get it?"

"It was left to me," he explained. "When I was in foster care, they made sure it was safe. They finally gave it to me when I moved here."

She looked to her hands with a frown. "Oh," Was all she could say. She felt bad considering wasn't left anything but a ring and the one stupid piece of paper.

"I'll just let you look at it and answer any questions you have," he smiled. Slowly and carefully opening the book up, Alessia noticed the first page had her parents names on it.

Arabella and Rafael Hazen.

Another smile formed on her lips. Turning the page, there were sketches of them. Colorful pictures. Her mother had bright, blue eyes and her father had bright green. She took a deep breath as she read the date on the bottom. April 12th, 1819.

Her eyes widened as she looked down to Elijah. "1819?"

"Just read and understand," he said softly.

Turning the page was a passage written by her mother. She smiled as grazed her fingers grazed over the neatly written words.

"Today is November 14th, 1819, I gave birth to my two beautiful babies. Twins. One girl and one boy. You both have mine and Rafael's eyes. Perfect little things we have created. It truly hurts, knowing that we are not able to raise you. After today, I will never see either of you again. My two perfect babies will grow up in the far future. You are mine, but you serve a much bigger purpose and I must let you go.

I've decided I am giving this book to you, Elijah. I know one day, that you will find your dear sister and show her. If you are reading, Alessia, I have a message for you too, my love."

A tear fell onto Alessia's hand as she turned the page, ready for her message from her mother.

"I didn't leave you, either of you. It's the hardest decision I and your father have ever had to make as eighteen year olds. By the time you read this, you will hopefully be around the same age. I assume things will be different then, and you will not marry or give birth to heirs so young.

If I was allowed to keep you, you both would have lived here, in this kingdom, with me and your father. You will both be missed so much and I hope, perhaps in another life, we will meet again.

I love you both with everything I have,

with all the love in the world,

Your Mother."

Covering her mouth, Alessia began to sob. She looked to Elijah, who had a few tears falling from his face as well. He stood up, sitting next to her on his bed and took her into his arms, hugging her tightly as she cried into his shirt.
