                                                                                         Alessia

It was a cold, dark, depressing, night. You know, the usual. Alessia was trapped in her room with no light, no heat, no food, and no water. For two days. This particular home that she was stuck in, hated her. No surprise there. She believed she was unlovable. She believed that she would never find a home. Physically or emotionally.

She had trained herself to be cold over time. She wasn't happy. She was convinced she never would be. Her walls were built up so high, doubled even, that no one would ever be able to break them down. However, that didn't mean she couldn't be broken. She was. Her last home broke her. It was even worse than the one she was currently in. Could you believe?

"Not surprised." She said out loud to no one but herself. Her voice was hoarse, considering she hadn't spoken in days seeing as no one came to check on her. She was used to being alone for long periods of time. The more alone time she had, the more she convinced herself that she would stay that way forever.

Perhaps she was meant to be alone. Perhaps, no one was meant to love her.

Or maybe, she wasn't even supposed to exist.

"I could fix that." She thought, looking to the fork that was left from her last meal, days ago.

Bad thoughts lead to bad actions. Bad thoughts lead to bad actions.

Alessia sprung up from her bed, panting loudly from the dream. She hauled herself up with a groan and got ready before walking to Elijah's room.

"Today I'm going to be teaching you how to do some different spell sort of things," he said with a smile.

She nodded. "This should be easy, right?"

"Yeah, no," Her lips made their way into a frown. "It might not be so easy. I mean it took me quite a bit to master my powers. I trained with Charlie. But once you get it, you won't even have to say the words," Alessia's eyes automatically rolled to the back of her head, making Elijah laugh. "Let's get started, sis."

He placed a green cup onto the stool in his room. "Relax your mind, clear your head of everything. Just focus on lifting the cup. Say: "Et ortus vitae," The green cup sat there, waiting for Alessia to lift it. She kept her eyes on the cup and imagined it floating.

"Et ortus vitae," she said, focusing on the cup, and nothing else, but it wouldn't lift. She said it again, and again. And again. Frustration tingled in her fingertips. "Why won't it move?"

"It will, you just have to relax and focus. Don't get angry, that won't help at all," he tried to calm her down. Once again she focused on the cup and pictured it levitating. "Et ortus vitae," she said slower.

Finally, the cup lifted from the stool. She put her hand out to help guide it into her other hand and shut her eyes. However, the cup fell halfway to her. She huffed and kicked the cup. Now, she was beyond frustrated.

"It's so easy for you! Why isn't it for me?" she yelled.

"Alex, calm down you can't get angry because-" he was cut off by the sound of glass breaking. Alessia turned around to see she had broken his entire mirror telepathically. The thought that she can at least do something calmed down until she realized she broke it. Slowly she turned to Elijah with a guilty smile.

"Sorry?" Elijah simply laughed and shook his head.

"Please come to the main hall for an urgent announcement — Please come to the main hall for an urgent announcement—" A voice boomed through the loudspeaker.
