Courtney's POV:

I watched as his whole demeanor changed as he began to argue with someone on the phone, making me frown. He tried to play it off like nothing was wrong as he got up and left the room after putting his boxers on, still talking on the phone. As he left the room, I decided to check my phone, about the time I turned my phone on, it started ringing. I frowned as I noticed it was Xiao Ying. I finally gave up and picked up the phone. "What?" I said as I answered angrily.

"Where are you? I am coming to get you." He said angrily. "No, I'm not telling you anything, you don't own me and I'm not your girlfriend anymore." I argued. "Yes you are, you are mine and you will listen to me right now and tell me where you're at so I can come get you." He fought back. "Alright, sorry about that-" Sicheng started to say as he walked back into the room, stopping as he noticed I was on the phone. "Who is that? Are you cheating on me?" Xiao Ying said suddenly.

"I've never cheated on you and besides we're not together anymore and you know what, I met someone tonight and he has been better to me than you ever have." I yelled. "Oh, so you just went and found someone else to have sex with when you won't even have sex with your own boyfriend." He said. "How many times do I have to say it, you are not my boyfriend anymore, dating you was the biggest mistake I've ever made." I said as Sicheng looked at me.

"Let me talk to him." Xiao Ying said suddenly. I protested but Sicheng grabbed the phone out of my hand, seemingly having heard what Xiao Ying had said. "You asked to talk to me." He said into the phone as I watched him. I couldn't hear what was being said as they argued back and forth. "You know what, don't call her again cause you don't deserve such a beautiful and amazing girl. She's mine now and you need to fuck off." Sicheng yelled and hung up the phone. "I'm sorry Courtney-" he started to say before I jumped up and hugged him, surprising him. "Thank you for standing up for me." I said as he hugged back.

"I couldn't just let him talk to you like that." He said. "You deserve better." He said sadly. "I've already met better." I said, smiling up at him as I held the cover to my chest, covering myself up. "Don't hide yourself, you're beautiful." He said gently as he pushed the cover away. He kissed me gently on the lips and lead me back to his bed, cuddling up beside me under the cover. "Let's just get some rest and forget all of this okay?" He suggested. I nodded and smiled at him as I felt his arms go around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

He kissed me on the forehead and sniffled before sighing as he rested his chin on my head. "What's wrong?" I asked, concerned at his sudden change of mood. "Nothing, you should get some rest now, it'll be okay." He said. I sighed and cuddled into his chest more and let myself drift off to sleep...

I woke up to the sunlight shining in the windows, grazing my skin as I stretched out and rubbed my tired eyes. I realized quickly that Sicheng wasn't next to me anymore, making me frown. I got up and put my clothes on and walked to the kitchen and still didn't see him. As I went to check other rooms, I noticed a note on the table. I checked it and felt my heart sink as I read the words.

-Dear Courtney,
I have to go away for a while and I don't know when or if I'll be back. It hurts me to say this because I truely did have an amazing time with you last night getting to know you and..other things. I will try to call you as much as I can but as I will be working out of the country for a while, I'm not sure how much we can talk. It is fine if you move on from me but I will always fight for you. Please remember you're beautiful and amazing and deserve way better than you've been given. I hope one day we meet again. ~Sicheng-

I cried as I read the note, realizing I might never see him again. My heart began to break as I sat the letter down and quickly grabbed my stuff and headed out, not wanting to think about it anymore. I realized I had no where to go but I didn't want to go back to living with Xiao Ying so I decided to go back to the little shop I had met Sicheng at the night before. I sat there sadly and looked on my phone, seeing that I had taken some pictures of me and Sicheng together including one of me and him kissing that made me blush.

I smiled to myself but everything was ruined as I heard a familar voice. "So you've been here the whole time. I told you to come home but you didn't listen to me once again." I heard Xiao Ying's voice as I looked up to see him angrily looking at me, looking as if he had been out all night. "You don't own me." I said as he got closer. He quickly smacked me in the face and took my phone, seeing the pictures of me and Sicheng, stopping on the one of me and him kissing. "So this is the guy you were seeing last night?! He screamed at me as he threw the phone back at me and slapped me again and again.

The arguing went back and forth for several minutes as I felt the stinging in my face from where he hit me. I felt relief the moment I saw a cop car pull up, sending Xiao Ying running.
