Courtney's POV:
I came home to my apartment, sitting my stuff down on the table as I noticed my boyfriend wasn't in the living room like usual. "Xiao-Ying! I'm home!!" I yelled. I didn't get a response so I guessed he wasn't home, I sighed and just decided to go to bed. I changed into shorts and a tank top and laid down, feeling my eyes grow heavier. Suddenly the front door opened and I heard someone stumble in and shut it behind them.
Soon enough, I heard the footsteps drag into my room and the sounds of Xiao Ying's voice. "Babe, I'm back home." I heard him say as he threw off his shoes and crawled into the bed beside me. "Where have you been?" I asked as I turned towards him. "I was just out." He said, the alcohol on his breath hitting me in the face. I rolled my eyes at his response, making him mad. "Come on baby, I can make it up to you." He said, leaning forward and kissing me roughly.
I pushed him off and attempted to turn over and just go to sleep but I felt his hands on me. "Come on, you know you want this." He whispered in my ear, his hand trailing down to the waistband of my shorts as he kissed my neck. "Stop okay, I'm not ready for that. You know I'm a virgin." I said but he didn't listen. "I can change that." He said, pushing me onto my back as he attacked my lips again. I didn't kiss back however, just struggled in his grasp. The moment he tried to take my shorts off, I jumped off of the bed and yelled.
"Stop that Xiao Ying, this isn't you." I said. "The girl at the bar didn't deny me like you do." He said in a drunken tone. His words hit me like a truck as I let it sink in what he had just said. "You...cheated on me?" I said, feeling tears well up in my eyes. "At least she'd let me fuck her." He said, rolling his eyes. I let a tear fall as I angrily grabbed my purse and his keys from the floor and my phone before I bolted out there door. "Where are you going?" He said as he started to get up.
"I don't want to see you anymore." I said. I heard him yell and come after me so I quickened my pace and got in the car, locking the doors. I turned the key and threw it in reverse as I saw him coming out the door yelling. "I'm just joking with you! It's the alcohol talking!" He yelled. I didn't listen and instead of stopping and hearing him out, I slammed on the gas, backing out of the driveway quickly. I took off towards the city, wanting to get as far away as I could from that house.
I didn't even notice that the car was almost out of gas until it stopped. I sighed and looked out the window to see the city up ahead, so I decided to just see if I could find somewhere to spend the night. I sighed and got out of the car and began walking up the road. Eventually I saw a little store that seemed to be the only place open around the area. As I walked towards the store, I noticed a man sitting outside by himself. "Mind if I sit here?" I said, seeing the empty seat next to him. "Not at all." He said.
As I sat down, I noticed how handsome this man was, making me feel shy. The two of us sat in silence as I noticed he seemed to be drinking a bottle of soju by himself. "Want one?" He asked. I accepted and opened it, taking a sip. "So what is a pretty girl like you doing out here all alone this late at night?" He asked. "Long story." I said, taking another sip. "Can I at least get your name?" He said sweetly. "Courtney." I said. "Nice to meet you Courtney, I'm Sicheng." He said, shaking my hand.
We got to know each other over a few drinks and I learned that he was such a sweet guy who had surprisingly never had a girlfriend before. I told him about what happened with my boyfriend and how I ended up here. It just felt so easy talking to him, it was like I could tell him anything even though I had just met him. As the night passed, I hadn't even realized how long I had been sitting there talking to him, I felt I had known him forever. "I just can't believe a guy like you has never had a girlfriend before..or your first kiss." I said, starting to feel a bit tipsy from all of the soju.
"I see why you've had your's already and had a boyfriend..you're really beautiful. Are you and him..still a thing?" He said suddenly, making me blush. "I never want to see that man again." I admitted. "Sorry for asking." He said. "It's okay." I said. I looked over at him and my eyes trailed down from his gorgeous dark brown eyes to his plump lips that had never been kissed before. He looked back at me and smiled before taking a deep breath and another sip of soju.
Before I knew it, my heart felt like it was about to explode as he leaned forward and kissed me quickly. I kissed back as I felt the sparks between us, something I had never felt with Xiao Ying. The two of us continued to kiss as I forgot that I had just met him a few hours ago, but something about it felt so right, or maybe that was just the alcohol talking.
